Maverick's Flight On the final leg to Florida's embrace, A late departure shuffled our space. Seats reassigned, a chaotic dance, Maverick found in circumstance. No ground to claim, his usual bed, Across the seats, he laid his head. The cabin laughed, a sight so rare, Phones out, in the air, a shared affair. Maverick, attentive, a curious gaze, Watching the attendant, through the maze. Of safety speeches, gestures wide, He watched intently, no detail to hide. The attendant, amused, laughter in waves, Declared Maverick best, of all he saves. "For listening close, with such delight, You've won my heart, on this night flight." The cabin roared, a joyful sound, In Maverick's presence, laughter found. A journey remembered, not for its end, But for a dog, a listener, a friend. So here's to Maverick, in skies so high, A tale to tell, when feet are dry. Of a flight to remember, a story to keep, Of the dog who listened, before he'd sleep.
