Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:

"So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;"
Colossians 1:10

Reflection:

In Colossians 1:10, Paul encourages believers to live a life that honors the Lord, striving to be fully pleasing to Him. This verse encapsulates a profound call to a purposeful and fruitful Christian walk. It highlights three key aspects of our spiritual journey: living worthily, bearing fruit, and growing in the knowledge of God.

To walk in a manner worthy of the Lord means aligning our actions, words, and thoughts with His will. It is about living a life that reflects His character and love. This isn’t about perfection, but about striving daily to represent Christ in all we do.

Bearing fruit in every good work signifies that our faith should be active and productive. As we serve others and live out our faith, we should see tangible results—acts of kindness, generosity, and love that impact those around us. This fruit is evidence of God working through us.

Increasing in the knowledge of God is a continuous process. The more we learn about Him, the deeper our relationship grows, and the more equipped we become to live out His will. This knowledge comes from studying Scripture, prayer, and experiencing God in our daily lives.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us to walk in a manner worthy of You. Help us to live in a way that pleases You, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in our knowledge of You. Fill us with Your Spirit, so we can reflect Your love and grace to those around us. Guide our steps and strengthen our faith, that we may honor You in all we do. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Action Step:

Today, consider one area of your life where you can align more closely with God's will. Whether it's through a kind act, a moment of prayer, or studying Scripture, take a step to live out your faith actively. Remember, our Father knows best, and as we walk in His ways, we bring glory to His name.
