Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 6:1

Reflection:
Our natural desire for recognition and approval can often tempt us to display our good deeds for others to see. We might feel validated when others praise us, yet Jesus reminds us that God sees beyond outward appearances. He sees the intentions of our hearts. When we serve others or practice righteousness, it should be with a heart that seeks to glorify God, not gain attention or approval from people.

God promises that when we do things in secret, without the desire for human praise, He will reward us. His rewards are far greater and more enduring than the fleeting approval of others. Trust that our Father, who knows all things, sees your heart and is pleased when your actions flow from a place of love and humility.

*Prayer:*
Heavenly Father, help me to seek Your approval alone. Purify my motives so that all I do is for Your glory and not for human recognition. Remind me daily that You see my heart and will reward me according to Your perfect will. May I serve You faithfully in all I do, trusting that You know what’s best for me. Amen.

Thought for the Day:
God's reward comes when we serve Him with pure hearts, not seeking human praise but seeking to glorify Him.
