Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop
Scripture:
“He said to them: ‘It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.’
— Acts 1:7
Reflection:
As humans, we crave certainty. We often want to know what the future holds—when our prayers will be answered, when relief will come, or when our hopes will be fulfilled. But Jesus reminds us in Acts 1:7 that there are things only God knows. The “times and dates” of God’s plans are not ours to control or even understand fully.
This can be challenging, especially when we are waiting for answers or clarity. Yet, trusting in God’s timing is an act of faith. When we acknowledge that the Father holds all authority, we can rest in the assurance that He is working things out for our good, even when we can’t see it.
Our job is not to figure out when or how everything will unfold, but to trust and obey. God’s timing is always perfect. Though we may not know all the details, we can trust that our Father knows best, and He is guiding our lives according to His divine wisdom and love.
Prayer:
Father, help me to trust in Your perfect timing. Even when I don’t know when or how things will happen, I choose to rest in him the knowledge that You are in control. Teach me to wait patiently and faithfully, knowing that Your plans are always good. Amen.
Thought for the Day:
God’s timing may not align with ours, but His plans are always worth the wait. Trust Him with the unknown.
