Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:
Psalm 63:1
“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.”

Reflection:
There are seasons in life that feel like spiritual deserts, times when we may feel distant from God, weary, and longing for something more. In Psalm 63:1, David expresses his deep thirst for God while in the barren wilderness of Judah. Even in his isolation, he knew that only God could satisfy the longings of his soul.

In our own lives, we may experience times of dryness—moments when nothing seems to fulfill our hearts. It’s during these times that we must remember our Father knows what is best for us. He allows these desert moments to deepen our dependence on Him. When we seek God earnestly, our spiritual thirst drives us into a closer relationship with Him, leading us to discover His sufficiency and grace.

God is our living water in every wilderness, and when we seek Him with our whole being, He is faithful to refresh and restore us. Trust that even in your driest seasons, the Father knows best and is drawing you nearer to Him.

Prayer:
Lord, I seek You in the midst of my spiritual thirst. Help me to trust in Your wisdom and guidance, even when I feel like I am in a desert. Quench my soul with Your presence, and let me draw closer to You each day. Amen
