Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop
Scripture:
1 Corinthians 10:13 – “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
Reflection:
Temptation is something we all face, whether it’s the temptation to give in to fear, anger, doubt, or desires that pull us away from God. But 1 Corinthians 10:13 offers us great comfort and assurance: we are not alone in these struggles. Every temptation we encounter is something common to humanity, and God is fully aware of our battles.
What’s more, our Heavenly Father knows our limits better than we do. He will never allow us to be tempted beyond what we can handle, and He is always faithful to provide a way out. Whether it’s through prayer, Scripture, or the strength of His Spirit, God equips us to overcome what feels overwhelming.
This verse is a reminder that when we face temptation, we don’t have to rely on our own strength. God is with us, guiding us to the path of endurance and victory. Trust in His faithfulness, knowing that no matter how hard it seems, He always provides a way to stand firm.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for being faithful in every moment of my life. When I face temptation, help me to remember that You are with me, providing the strength and wisdom I need to endure. Show me the way out and guide my steps so I may remain faithful to You. Amen.
Action:
When you face temptation today, pause and pray. Ask God to show you the way out and trust that He has already provided what you need to overcome it. Reflect on past moments when He helped you endure, and draw strength from His faithfulness.
