Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best

1 John 4:19 “We love Him, because He first loved us.”

At the heart of our relationship with God lies a profound truth: we love because He first loved us. God’s love is the foundation of everything we are and everything we do. It is not something we earn or deserve; it is a gift, given freely and unconditionally. Our Father knew what we needed before we even realized it—His perfect, redeeming love.

In life, we often search for love, acceptance, and purpose in people and things. Yet, the love that truly satisfies our hearts comes only from our Father. He loved us first—before we made any move toward Him, before we even knew Him. He demonstrated that love through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, giving us life and the ability to love others in return.

Our Father knows best because His love for us is perfect. It never wavers, never changes, and never fades. As we embrace His love, we are empowered to love others with the same selfless, unconditional love He has shown us. When we love, we reflect His heart and fulfill the purpose for which we were created.

Today, remember that your ability to love comes from the One who first loved you. Let His love fill your heart and guide your actions. Trust that your Father knows best, and rest in the security of His never-ending love.

Prayer: 
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me first and for showing me how to love. Help me to love You more deeply and to love others as You have loved me. Remind me each day that Your love is all I need. Amen.
