Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop
Scripture:
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
— Matthew 18:20 (NIV)
Reflection:
In life, we often find ourselves overwhelmed by decisions, challenges, and uncertainties. We may question what the future holds or whether we’re making the right choices. In these moments of confusion, it’s easy to feel isolated, as though we are walking alone. Yet, Matthew 18:20 offers a beautiful reminder that we are never truly alone when we come together in Christ’s name. Even in the smallest of gatherings, the presence of God is promised.
The power of this verse is not just in the gathering itself, but in the intention behind it—when we seek God’s wisdom, guidance, and peace with others who share our faith, we can rest assured that He is in our midst. It is a reminder that our Father always knows what’s best for us. We don’t have to have all the answers, because when we gather in faith, we’re inviting the One who does. He will guide, comfort, and provide exactly what we need.
The Lord encourages us to draw near to Him, and one of the ways we do that is through fellowship with fellow believers. Whether it’s in a large congregation, a small prayer group, or even just with one other person, God’s presence is there. We don’t have to walk this journey alone—God places others in our lives for mutual encouragement and support, knowing that together, we are stronger.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your promise to be with us whenever we gather in Your name. Help us to remember that in times of uncertainty or struggle, we are not alone. Lead us to seek the fellowship of others who also trust in You, so that together we can experience Your presence and discern Your perfect will. May we always remember that You know what’s best for us, and we trust in Your guidance every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thought for the Day:
When we gather in Christ’s name, His wisdom and presence are always with us. Trust that our Father knows best, and seek His will together.
