Surely the Lord Is in This Place
Genesis 28:16
I laid my head in weary rest,
My heart weighed down, my soul distressed.
Yet in the silence, still and deep,
The Lord drew near while I did sleep.
A ladder rose, heaven kissed earth,
A holy sign of endless worth.
Angels ascending, light on high,
God’s presence filled the starry sky.
I woke in awe, my spirit stirred,
My lips confessed what heart had heard:
“Surely the Lord is in this place,
And I was blind to His embrace.”
How often do we fail to see
The holy ground beneath our feet?
Yet every moment, everywhere,
God whispers softly, “I am there.”
Gen 28:16Â Â And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.
