The Snare of Temptation

      The Snare of Temptation

Temptation comes in subtle guise,
A fleeting spark before our eyes.
It whispers softly, “This won’t harm,”
A cunning voice, a fleeting charm.

It promises joy, it paints things bright,
Yet leads us far from God’s pure light.
What glitters soon will fade away,
Leaving regret where hope should stay.

But in the storm, God’s Word is near,
His Spirit speaks, His voice is clear:
“Resist the foe, and he will flee,
My grace is strong, lean hard on Me.”

No trial is greater than His hand,
He gives escape, a way to stand.
So walk with faith, keep guard, take care,
For Christ has conquered every snare.

For God’s Honor and Glory
— Mark C. Waldrop

James 4:7 (KJV)
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
