A Prayer for Giving

I pray today with humble heart,
That what I give will do its part.
Not wealth, not pride, nor earthly gain,
But souls redeemed in Jesus’ name.

May dollars sown not feed excess,
Nor fund a life of selfishness.
But may they go where hearts are torn,
To bring the lost to be reborn.

For what is given, Lord, is Thine,
A trust, a seed, a holy sign.
Use it well, O God above,
To spread Your truth, to show Your love.

2Co 9:7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
