Won’t You Be My Valentine

Screenshot
Won’t you be my Valentine?
I’ll be yours, and you’ll be mine.

Valentines are rare and true,
Friends so precious, far and few.

If you find one, hold them near,
For they will always be most dear.

They’ll love you through each joy and trial,
With God’s love shining all the while.

As time goes by, our hearts expand,
Yet parting’s touch we understand.

But when our Valentine must go,
It’s just a pause—we surely know.

For in God’s arms, we’ll meet again,
Together forever, in joy without end.

Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By MarkWaldrop

Scripture Reading
Psalms 62:1-2 (ESV)
To the choirmaster: according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.

Reflection
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, finding moments of silence can be challenging. Yet, it is in these quiet moments that we can truly connect with our Father, who knows best. David, in his psalm, emphasizes the importance of waiting in silence for God. It is in this stillness that we can hear His voice, receive His guidance, and find our salvation.

David describes God as his rock, his salvation, and his fortress. These metaphors convey strength, stability, and protection. When we place our trust in God, we are anchoring ourselves to a foundation that cannot be moved by life's storms. No matter the challenges or uncertainties we face, we can rest assured that our Father is with us, providing the security and peace we need.

Waiting in silence for God is an act of faith and trust. It means acknowledging that He is in control and that His timing is perfect. It means surrendering our worries and fears to Him, knowing that He will guide us through. Our Father knows best, and His plans for us are for our good.

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
In the quiet moments, help us to wait for You in silence. Remind us that our salvation comes from You alone. You are our rock, our fortress, and our stronghold. Strengthen our faith to trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. When we face challenges, help us to remember that we shall not be greatly shaken because we are anchored in You. ThThought for the Day
Take a few moments today to sit in silence before God. Reflect on His role as your rock and fortress. Trust that He knows best and that your salvation comes from Him alone.

Scripture Reading
Psalms 112:4-6 (ESV)
Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.
It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice. For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever.

Reflection
In our journey through life, we often encounter moments of darkness and uncertainty. During these times, it can be difficult to see a way forward or understand the purpose behind our trials. However, today’s scripture reminds us that light dawns in the darkness for the upright. Our Father, who knows us intimately and cares for us deeply, ensures that His light will guide us through even the darkest of times.

Psalm 112:4-6 paints a picture of a person who is gracious, merciful, and righteous. These qualities reflect the heart of someone who trusts in God's wisdom and follows His ways. When we deal generously, lend to those in need, and conduct our affairs with justice, we are not just following a moral code; we are embodying the very nature of God.

Our Father knows best. He knows the trials we face and the strength we need to overcome them. When we live righteously, we are anchored in His unchanging love and wisdom. The righteous will never be moved because their foundation is in the eternal and unshakeable character of God.

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your unwavering guidance and love. In moments of darkness, help us to remember that Your light will always shine through. Teach us to be gracious, merciful, and just in all our dealings. May we reflect Your righteousness in our lives and trust that You know what is best for us. Strengthen our hearts to remain steadfast, knowing that we are anchored in Your eternal love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thought for the Day
Reflect on how you can embody graciousness, mercy, and justice in your daily interactions. Trust that in doing so, you are reflecting the heart of God, who always knows what is best for you.

Kindred Souls

Not the ones who speak alike,
but those whose hearts align,
find in silence, in a glance,
a language more divine.

Words may falter, fade, or break,
yet feelings bridge the space,
a touch, a tear, a knowing look—
the soul leaves its trace.

Beyond the borders words create,
beyond the tongue’s embrace,
it’s love, it’s sorrow, it’s pure truth
that time cannot erase.

For in the hush where voices end,
where echoes fade away,
two souls that feel the world the same
will always find their way.

Scripture Reading:
Hebrews 12:5-6 (ESV)
“And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? ‘My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.’”

Reflection:

As children of God, we are often reminded of His deep, abiding love for us. This love is not merely a gentle affection; it is a love that shapes, molds, and sometimes disciplines. Hebrews 12:5-6 speaks directly to this truth, exhorting us to remember that the Lord's discipline is a sign of His love and acceptance.

Discipline is never easy to endure. It can be painful and challenging, leaving us questioning why we must face such trials. However, just as a loving parent corrects a child to guide them towards a better path, our Heavenly Father disciplines us for our growth and benefit. His reproof is not meant to break us but to build us up, to refine our character, and to draw us closer to Him.

When we face the Lord's discipline, we should not grow weary or disheartened. Instead, we should recognize it as an expression of His profound love and commitment to our well-being. The trials we encounter are opportunities for us to grow in faith, patience, and righteousness. They remind us that we are not abandoned, but cherished and cared for by our Father.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your loving discipline. Help us to embrace Your reproof with open hearts, knowing that it comes from a place of deep love and care. Strengthen us during times of trial and guide us on the path of righteousness. May we always remember that Your discipline is a testament to Your love for us, and may it draw us closer to You each day. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thought for the Day:

When you face challenges, remember that they are not signs of God's absence but evidence of His active presence and loving care in your life.

Just Be There

When storms arise and skies turn gray,
And words feel empty, lost, astray,
Don’t search for phrases, don’t explain,
Just sit with them and share the pain.

No need for sermons, loud or wise,
No fixing tears, no analyzing cries.
A silent presence speaks the most,
A steady hand, a gentle post.

For in the weight of grief and strife,
It’s love that softly mends a life.
Not perfect answers, bold or grand,
But simply being—hand in hand.

Scripture Reading:
Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

Devotional Thought:

In our journey through life, it's easy to rely on our own wisdom and understanding. We often trust our instincts, experiences, and knowledge to navigate the complexities we face. However, Proverbs 3:5-6 calls us to a higher standard of trust—a trust not in ourselves but in the Lord.

When we trust in the Lord with all our heart, we are invited to surrender our plans, our doubts, and our fears to Him. This trust is wholehearted and unwavering, recognizing that God’s wisdom far surpasses our own. It is a call to let go of our need to control every outcome and to lean on His infinite understanding.

The second part of the verse urges us to acknowledge Him in all our ways. This means inviting God into every aspect of our lives—our decisions, our relationships, our work, and our dreams. When we do so, we align ourselves with His will, and He promises to make our paths straight. This doesn’t imply a life free of challenges but a life where God’s guidance and direction are clear, leading us through every twist and turn with purpose and assurance.

Reflection:

Are there areas in your life where you find it difficult to trust God fully?
How can you make a conscious effort to acknowledge Him in your daily decisions and actions?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wisdom and guidance. Help us to trust You with all our hearts and to lean not on our own understanding. Teach us to acknowledge You in all our ways, knowing that You will direct our paths. Strengthen our faith and lead us in Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Action Step:

Take a moment today to identify one area of your life where you need to trust God more. Pray specifically for His guidance and commit to acknowledging Him in that area. Write down any insights or directions you receive from the Lord as you seek to trust Him fully.

Scripture: Galatians 6:14
"But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."

Reflection:
In a world where achievements and accolades are often the measure of success, Paul redirects our focus to the true source of our worth and identity: the cross of Jesus Christ. He teaches us that our only boast should be in the sacrifice of Jesus, through which we are transformed and set apart from worldly values.

This verse encourages us to let go of our pride and to find our identity in Christ alone. The cross represents not just a symbol of suffering but the ultimate victory over sin and death. By embracing the cross, we declare that our old selves, tied to worldly desires, are dead, and we now live a new life dedicated to God's glory.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, which has brought us new life and freedom from the world's values. Help us to boast only in Your sacrifice and to live in a way that reflects our transformation. Teach us to seek Your approval above all else and to find our identity in Your love and grace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thought for the Day:
Let the cross of Christ be your sole boast. In it, find your true identity and the power to live a life set apart for God's glory.

Ready to Meet the Creator

No matter the way, no matter the time,
Life fades like the setting sun’s chime.
By nature’s hand or fate’s cruel tide,
One day, we all must step inside.

Some leave in slumber, peaceful, still,
Some by chance, against their will.
Some in battle, some in flight,
Yet all must face the endless night.

But death is not the journey’s end,
It is the door where souls ascend.
And what remains beyond that gate
Is set not by chance, but choice and fate.

So keep your soul, your heart made right,
Walk in truth, embrace the Light.
For none may know the hour or day,
When earth will fade and call us away.

Be ready, friend, make peace today,
With God who holds the final say.
For when you stand before His face,
Only His mercy will be your grace.

The Power of Presence

Screenshot
Not every wound needs words to mend,
Not every storm needs light to end.
In darkest moments, lost and weak,
It’s not advice we truly seek.

A quiet hand, a steady heart,
A silent nod—a simple start.
No need for wisdom, grand or wise,
Just someone near, with knowing eyes.

For pain is ours, yet not alone,
A heavy weight not meant for one.
A touch, a glance, a soul so near,
Can chase away the deepest fear.

No need to fix, no need to speak,
Just sit beside me when I’m weak.
Your presence tells me I belong,
That even broken, I am strong.

So let us hold, let us stay,
In love that whispers, “I’m here today.”
For in the silence, hearts can mend,
And presence speaks what words pretend.
