Is the modern-day librarian becoming a lost art? I certainly hope not. Lord help me if I lose my smarts. So much faith and hope oozing from those books on the shelves. They are telling stories of every kind that better ourselves. Picking the exact experience from the shelves It’s much like taking a trip to enjoy ourselves Handing the book to the Liberian with a smile on her face Watching her place the stamp in just the correct place Holding a book is like renewing a relationship with an old friend So many new stories to hear rippling off my soul in the end My mind drifting all over the world where all of its quaint beauty is unfurled No tickets to buy. No large crowds to navigate I am soaking up the words for my soul to regenerate No chance of catching an obscure disease from this far-off land Just simply falling asleep with my passport in my hand March 3, 2023 Mark Waldrop
