Grandpa’s Bible brings a tear to my eye Him holding it close just before he died It traveled many a mile to and from church All around town with souls to search The leather is all worn and tattered now I know in God's eyes it's a Blue Ribbon somehow The smell of his Old Spice on the cover It isn't easy to imagine his life is over From cover to cover, his life shows God's Love I now commit him to his Heavenly Father above March 9, 2023 Mark Waldrop
Grandma's Bible means so much to me I've seen her reading it while drinking tea She read it when the grandkids were born She read it the day Grandpa died early that morn All the congregation sought her chocolate pies at the church social. She always remarked the recipe was with her devotional Thinking nothing of it after she passed away. I was leafing through her Bible one day There it was, the Chocolate Pie recipe.
