Do you remember the day you came home with us from the shelter?
You were so excited. Your tail wagging so fast, it never stopped.
It was around Thanksgiving. They had named you Turkey. Not a very fitting name for a Lab mix. However, it may have helped with your adoption.
The staff shed a tear when you walked out the front door. They cared for you so much because you were so full of love.
They even sent you a coat to wear. They were afraid you would get cold because you had no hair.
Your ribs showing and being underweight did not slow you down.
You jumped into the car, pressing your nose as far forward as you could.
Not knowing where you were going, accepting what was ahead. Fully trusting your future to us.
It will soon be my time to go Jax. I hope I can go with as much excitement, love, and trust as you had.
Not knowing exactly where I’m going but only knowing it’s going to be good.
Giving my total trust to my Creator.
My sight is dim now. I can feel your cold nose pressing into my hand. I feel a teardrop from your eye. Jax don’t cry.
Play with the grandkids and kiss them goodbye for me.
When you miss me, look to the sky.
Know that I did not die.
I’m just waiting.

You don’t capture a snarling dog with a whip and rocks
We need to realize that the old dog has had many hard knocks
You lure him in, with something he likes.
He may take the bate even if he wants to bite
Trust will come after many many days
It has to do with forgetting the old ways
When Love shows up after trust is gained
He will never again, have to be restrained.

Free as a bird that’s how I feel today
Oh the freedom I feel can’t be explained away
Freedom to Worship Freedom to pray
Freedom to do all good things today
True Freedom comes from GOD above
That’s the only place to find true love
Worldly love only lasts for a short span of time
That’s why we should rely on GODS LOVE all the time

The Painted Bunting is such a beautiful bird
His colors are of the rainbow mark my word
His colors are bright red, yellow, and blue
Shimmering in sunlight their brilliance shines through
He sings such a harmonious happy song
Howdy-do, Howdy-do, Howdy-do all day long
GOD’S Creation no more Glorious than he
Knowing GOD sent him for just you and me

I Lost My Best Friend Today
I had to take just a moment to Pray
They wanted to be with me all the time
I never understood how They could read my mind
They seemed to know when I was sad
They wanted to play when I was glad
Tears I’ve shed out of love
For my Pet that was sent from above
GOD made every Creature here on earth
We couldn’t realize their Real Worth
Since they All came from Heaven Above
That’s where They have returned
To wait our love

I had an old boxer named Joy
I loved to feed her
And watch her play with her toy
We would run and play
And be exhausted
At the end of the day
She loved to sleep beside my bed
I felt protected
From toe to head
We both grew older
She could no longer stand
I had to let her go
To be in God’s hand

Mama died
We all cried
Daddy said
Don’t worry
I will be by your side
I will take care of you every day
We will swim have fun and play
When you’re tired
You can rest on my back
I will protect you night and day
Until you are grown and paddle away

I’m just a Bunny in the snow
It’s very cold out you know
I can’t wait for Easter to get here
I know it comes every Year
It’s much warmer then
I can deliver Candy again
The little Kids can’t wait for me
They shout and are full of glee
I’ll come hopping down the Bunny Trail
With lots of Candy in my pail
All the Children dressed in their Easter Best
Will so Surely be Blessed

I’m just a little Turtle
I’m a funny-looking thing
I’m looking for my Mama
I have lost her again
I’m not worried It’s happened before
She might even be up on shore
She won’t let me get too far away
Even when I wonder and play
She loves me very much
God made Mothers that way
Always protecting their Children Night and Day
Where is LOVE found
Maybe it’s at the Animal Shelter just outside Town
They have Dogs, Cats, and all kinds of Critters there
Just waiting to share your Love just because you Care
