Peter Cotton Tail

Peter Cotton Tail was much less commercial back in my day
There were no plastic eggs. Just children wanting to play.

All dressing in our Sunday Best
Going to our church being overly blest

The Easter Egg hunt was in the afternoon.
Searching for the eggs was over way too soon

The Easter meal was a sight to behold
Ham with all the trimmings never served cold

Back to church again that night. Worshiping God with all our might
Thanking God in every way that His Son Jesus rose on the third day

Unshackled

I was shackled by time
I was shackled by sin

I was shackled from within
Each day finding no way to win

I was shackled by my friends
No encouragement from my kin

Then crying out, please God unshackle me
An incredible peace came in I could not see

I fell to my knees in great surprise
Streams of tears flowing from my eyes

Hearing of God and what he had done for others
Years ago, I heard of Jesus from my Mother

Never in a million years thought he would have time for me
Now Praising and thanking Him every day on bended knee

2Ti 2:9  for which I am suffering even to the point of being shackled like a criminal. But God's word is not shackled.

Wisdom

Knowledge is from books on earth
Wisdom is from God's Great Worth

Both used for the love of God and man
Bringing Majesty to His Great Plan

Walking daily with my eyes on Him
His Heavenly light never grows dim

At the end of my race here on earth
Feeling God’s love at Heaven's birth

Fear

Fear is of this world. It does not abide where God abounds
If you have God in your heart, there can be no fear around

Only when we take our eyes off Jesus
can the devil possibly see us
With the Love of God in us, the devil with us can have no fuss.

The blood of Jesus covers our sins. The devil can find no door to enter in.

Thank You, God, for sending your son
That through Him, the race is won

When I die

When I die, what will my friends do? Not being very nice,
they will have no one to call for
money or advice

I suspect out of sight, out of mind
I hope they remember I was trying to be kind

I don't think they will. They weren't interested in kindness at the time.
They were more interested in working their way to a free dime.

I hold no grudges, for I know not their heart
Only God knows what it will take to fill their cart.

God is so Good

God is so good; I do not understand
Living everlasting in the shadow of His hand

He never leaves; he never leaves me alone
From this world, my spirit will have flown

I’m ready to meet my maker when I’m gone
I will see His shining face at the break of Dawn

Death will not stop me. I will forever keep serving Him
God's brilliant shining light in me will never grow dim

Thank you, God, for the forgiveness of sin
That I might live forever from your love within

The Touch

The tender touch of a mother's hand
When by her child, she does stand

Worth more than medicine known to man
God gives healing through His great plan

A man knows nothing compared to our Maker above.
His will for us comes from His Devine Love

The love of God comes through the tender touch of a loving Mother’s hand
It begins the Heavenly healing, which we will never begin to understand.

Prayer is more powerful than any force on earth.
Being so destined, many prayed for me since birth.

With Gods Love from above and my family here on earth
I've been divinely protected since my earthly birth.

Jesus

Jesus, Just the mention of His name
Will remove all my worldly shame

Jesus, Just the mention of His name
brings more love than I can acclaim

Jesus, Just the mention of His name
will miraculously remove all my sin

Jesus, Just the mention of His name
Will bring unexplained peace within

Jesus, Just the mention of His name
Conquered my death when He came

Jesus, Just the mention of His name
Living forever, continually praising Him
