Memory

Memory is a physical attribute each person has
We learn to nurture and cultivate it with all that we have

Good memories, we try to retain, the bad, not so much
It isn't easy to hold on to something we cannot touch

Our memories will fade away one day
No more to be
Relying only on God’s love will set us free

Grief

Grief seems more profound than the deepest ocean and the most expansive sea.
Oh, help me, Loving God, to get through the grief sent to me.

I know through Your Love and the passing of time
My burden will be lightened as I slowly Climb.

I rely totally on you, for no other friend can be so true.

Friendship is worth more than gold.
I rest in The peace that my loved one, you now hold.

The Compass

The Compass is the instrument used for direction
Keeping me on my earthly path, affording me protection

My moral compass should provide the same purpose
Keeping me from spinning continuously in a circle

How might I wake up this moral compass inside me
Following the teachings of Jesus on bended knee

War

Our animal friends have never started a war on earth
Men have always created them from their very birth

Men always want more and more
That's the basic concept of all war

There will be no end until their life comes to a conclusion
Then it seems to be passed on with much confusion

The total end to all war
Will only come when man exists no more

Through the Ages

The one thing that has been constant through the ages
The sweat of the brow and continual wages

From the beginning of time, the wages of sin have been earthly death
Sin remains with us until we gasp our last breath

Thank God our spiritual bodies are not the same
We will live forever if we accept His Holy name

God knew best from the very beginning
He knew death from sin would be our end

God sent His Son Jesus to die for you and me
That we might forever be set eternally free

We can't imagine the unconditional Love of our God
Giving us unimaginable peace through this life we trod

Daddy was a Coal Miner

Daddy was a coal miner nearly every day of his life
He couldn't miss work that would cause much strife

We bought all our stuff at the company store
We had to cause we were so drop-dead poor

Prices were high, but the credit was good
It was close to our neighborhood

Never getting ahead, just scratching from day to day
The loving company credit never went away

Looking back, I didn't know I was poor
My clothes looked like what the other kids wore

We went to church on Sunday and always praised God
I guess that's what kept us above the grassy, green sod

Mamma never showed any worries
A smile on her face
I now realize that came from God’s Amazing Grace

No matter what kind of shape we find ourselves in
God sent His Son so we may always have peace within

A coal mining Christmas

A coal mining Christmas is what I was used too
Remembering the smells of Grandma's Christmas stew

We all got a little Something for Christmas. I thought a lot at the time.
Even though it may have cost no more than a dime

That was the time of year the boys got new overhauls
The girls all giggly over new dresses and the decorations in the halls

I was as happy as I could be
Because of God’s Love and Joy living in me

I’d rather have Jesus

I'd rather have Jesus

I'd rather Have Jesus than all of the wealth in the world
Just knowing Jesus will bring spiritual riches unfurled

What A friend I have in Jesus; he knows everything about me
Knowing all, He's such a close friend; He still loves me

Jesus came to save me from my sin
Giving me eternal life to live forever
with Him

I pray whoever reads this will Find him today.
Please, Please don't delay.

There’s more; There’s more

There is so much more beyond the seashore
There’s more There’s more

There’s much more to my earthly life
There’s more There’s more

What little I know about my Creator
There’s more There’s more

What I know about Jesus and his love for me
There’s More; There’s More

The never-ending Love of God and my life in eternity
There’s More; There’s More

Thank God. Thank God there is always more
Even though I can’t see the forest for the trees
