Pay-Day Someday

In the realm of mortal choices, two paths starkly lie,
One cloaked in shadows, the other kissed by sky.
The "Pay-Day Someday" of each, a tale of end and start,
One leads to ruin, and one to the pure in heart.

For those who walk with Satin, in deceit's sly embrace,
Ignoring the call of virtue, and the light of grace.
Their path, though smooth at dawn, grows thorns at dusk's descent,
A journey toward a darkness, where regrets are never spent.

The "Pay-Day Someday" for them, a chasm wide and deep,
A realm of fire and whispers, where fears eternally creep.
For every choice of malice, for each act of disdain,
Awaits a reckoning, a ledger of pain.

Yet, for the righteous souls, who in God's footsteps tread,
With acts of kindness woven, and by faith's bright thread,
Their "Pay-Day Someday" gleams, a horizon gold and bright,
A promise of a kingdom, where day outshines the night.

Heaven awaits with open gates, for those who choose the right,
A realm of peace and joy, bathed in eternal light.
For every act of love, for each truth they uphold,
A jewel in their crown, more precious than gold.

So choose, oh mortal beings, the path you wish to walk,
In whispers or in wisdom, how you wish to talk.
For "Pay-Day Someday" comes, for all, for small and great,
Decide which legacy, you wish to create.

The tale of two eternities, woven by deeds and word,
The echo of our choices, in the universe is heard.
May we walk with courage, in the light of what's ahead,
Choosing paths of righteousness, by love and wisdom led.

John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Maverick’s Flight

           Maverick's Flight

On the final leg to Florida's embrace,
A late departure shuffled our space.
Seats reassigned, a chaotic dance,
Maverick found in circumstance.

No ground to claim, his usual bed,
Across the seats, he laid his head.
The cabin laughed, a sight so rare,
Phones out, in the air, a shared affair.

Maverick, attentive, a curious gaze,
Watching the attendant, through the maze.
Of safety speeches, gestures wide,
He watched intently, no detail to hide.

The attendant, amused, laughter in waves,
Declared Maverick best, of all he saves.
"For listening close, with such delight,
You've won my heart, on this night flight."

The cabin roared, a joyful sound,
In Maverick's presence, laughter found.
A journey remembered, not for its end,
But for a dog, a listener, a friend.

So here's to Maverick, in skies so high,
A tale to tell, when feet are dry.
Of a flight to remember, a story to keep,
Of the dog who listened, before he'd sleep.

Bust Your Britches

Busted Britches courtesy Biscuit T. Sims N5HBB Clinton, Mississippi
In the heart of the South, where the phrases run wild,
There's a saying that's tossed, by both adult and child.
"Bust your britches," they say, with a wink and a grin,
A testament to effort, skin deep and within.

It speaks of the labor, under sun's scorching light,
Of fields and of factories, through day and into night.
Where sweat beads like pearls, on the brow of the brave,
And the clothes on their back, are all but forgave.

For to "bust your britches," is not just to tear
A seam at the side, from wear and from wear.
It's the spirit of striving, beyond what's endured,
A metaphorical burst, of the strength that's assured.

It dances with humor, this phrase of the South,
A chuckle that rises, from deep in the mouth.
Yet, behind every laughter, there's truth to be found,
In the toil and the effort, where hope is unbound.

So next time you hear it, this saying with zest,
Imagine the trials, the ultimate test.
For "busting one's britches," in labor or jest,
Is a badge of one's mettle, in the South, it's expressed.

Go with God

In steps both small and leaps so grand,
Beneath the sky, on God's vast land,
"Go with God, and He with you,"
A promise held, forever true.

Through valleys deep and mountains high,
Underneath the vast, sprawling sky,
His presence felt in every breeze,
In whispered prayers, and rustled leaves.

With every step, His grace unfolds,
In stories written, and tales untold,
For when you walk with faith so clear,
God's love surrounds, His whispers near.

In moments of joy, in times of strife,
He walks beside you, through life's rife.
A guiding hand, a light that leads,
Fulfilling hopes, and tending needs.

"Go with God," a path divine,
His footsteps yours, entwined in thine.
For in His grace, you'll find your way,
From dawn's first light to end of day.

And when the road turns sharp and steep,
Remember promises He keeps.
For with His love, you'll never roam,
Go with God, and you're never alone.

I Find My Place

In the hush of dawn's embrace, I find my place,
With a heart full of grace, under Your celestial space.
Breath, a gift so fine, marks the divine line,
As I awaken to Your world, in wonderment, I twine.

Thank You for the peace, the joy, Your love's lease,
Upon this day I seize, Your blessings that never cease.
Each soul I meet, each step with my feet,
Is a part of Your plan, so perfect and complete.

To You, I surrender, my all, my defender,
In every endeavor, Your wisdom I remember.
Guide me on the path, away from wrath,
In Your teachings I bathe, in Your love's aftermath.

Your Word, a treasure, beyond measure,
In my heart, I keep, Your promise to never sever.
Living in Your way, each and every day,
I seek to display, Your glory in every fray.

Gratitude I voice, in You, I rejoice,
For the choices we make, in Your love, we are poised.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, with faith’s flame,
Your grace, I acclaim, forever unashamed.
