Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Verse of the Day:
"John 14:1-3 - Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

Reflection:
In John 14, Jesus offers profound comfort to His disciples during a time of uncertainty and fear. His words are not just for them but for us as well. He begins with an invitation to trust: "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." This is a call to place our full confidence in Him, especially when our hearts are heavy.

Our Father Knows Best:
Jesus assures us that there is a place prepared for us in His Father's house. This promise is a reminder of God's ultimate plan for us—one filled with hope and eternal security. Our Father knows our deepest needs and has made provisions for us beyond our earthly life. This promise of a prepared place reinforces the truth that God has our best interests at heart, both now and for eternity.

Trust in His Promise:
The assurance that Jesus is preparing a place for us and will come again to receive us should bring great peace to our hearts. It reminds us that we are not alone and that our future is secure in Him. This hope allows us to live with confidence, knowing that our lives are part of a divine plan that culminates in eternal fellowship with God.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of a place prepared for us in Your house. Help us to trust in Your words and not let our hearts be troubled by the cares of this world. Strengthen our faith in Jesus, knowing that He is preparing a place for us and will come again to bring us to Himself. Fill us with peace and hope as we look forward to being with You forever. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Action Step:
Today, reflect on the hope of the place Jesus is preparing for you. Whenever you feel troubled or anxious, remind yourself of His promise and let it bring peace to your heart. Spend a few moments in prayer, thanking God for His eternal plan and asking Him to help you trust in His perfect timing and wisdom. Share this comforting promise with someone who may need encouragement, reminding them that our Father knows best and has a wonderful future in store for us.
