Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture: Romans 8:28 (NIV)
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Reflection:

Romans 8:28 is a profound assurance of God’s sovereign plan and His ability to turn every situation towards our good. This verse reminds us that, as believers who love God and are called according to His purpose, we can trust that everything happening in our lives is under His divine control and orchestration.

Life can be filled with challenges, disappointments, and unexpected turns. In such moments, it can be difficult to see how anything good could come from our circumstances. However, God, in His infinite wisdom and love, uses every event—whether joyful or painful—to shape us and fulfill His purpose in our lives. He sees the bigger picture and knows how each piece fits into His grand design.

Trusting in this promise requires faith, especially when we are in the midst of trials. But we can take comfort in knowing that nothing is wasted in God's hands. Every experience, every hardship, and every victory is a tool He uses to work out His good purposes for us. Our Father knows best how to bring beauty from ashes and turn our sorrows into joy.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise that You work all things for my good. Help me to trust in Your divine plan, even when I do not understand my circumstances. Strengthen my faith and help me to see Your hand at work in every aspect of my life. Use every experience to shape me according to Your purpose and for Your glory. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Action Step:

Identify an area in your life where you are struggling to see God's hand at work. Take a moment to pray over this situation, asking God to help you trust in His plan and to reveal how He is working it for your good.

Closing Thought:

Our Father, in His perfect wisdom, orchestrates every detail of our lives for our good and His glory. Trust in His plan, embrace His purpose, and find peace in knowing that He is always working for your benefit.
