Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:
"Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians 2:9-11 (NIV)

Reflection:
In our daily lives, we often find ourselves caught up in the whirlwind of decisions, uncertainties, and the myriad challenges that come our way. It is easy to feel overwhelmed and question whether we are on the right path. Yet, amidst all the chaos, there is a profound truth that brings us comfort and assurance: Our Father knows best.

Philippians 2:9-11 reminds us of the ultimate authority and power of Jesus Christ, exalted by God the Father. This exaltation is not just a demonstration of His sovereignty but also a reflection of His deep love and perfect plan for us. The name of Jesus is above every name, and in recognizing His lordship, we align ourselves with the divine wisdom and guidance of our Heavenly Father.

When we acknowledge Jesus as Lord, we are not merely paying homage but also entrusting our lives to His care. Our Father, who exalted His Son, has a perfect plan for each of us. He knows our struggles, our dreams, and our innermost desires. By bowing our knees and confessing with our tongues that Jesus is Lord, we are surrendering our will to His perfect knowledge and love.

Today, let us find peace in the truth that our Father knows best. He sees the bigger picture and guides us with a wisdom that surpasses our understanding. In moments of doubt or confusion, let us turn to Jesus, whose name is above all names, and trust that He will lead us according to the Father’s perfect plan.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for exalting Jesus to the highest place and giving Him a name above every name. Help us to bow our knees and acknowledge Jesus as Lord in every aspect of our lives. Remind us that You know best, and Your plans for us are perfect. Grant us the faith to trust in Your wisdom and the courage to follow Your guidance. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
