Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop
Scripture:
"The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalm 34:17-18 (NIV)
Reflection:
In the midst of life's hardships, it is easy to feel alone and overwhelmed. Pain, sorrow, and struggles can cloud our vision and make us question whether we are heard or cared for. Psalm 34:17-18 offers a profound assurance: Our Heavenly Father not only hears our cries but is also close to us in our moments of deepest need.
The righteous are not exempt from trouble, but they have a precious promise—God hears them and delivers them. This deliverance may not always come in the way or timing we expect, but it is always rooted in His perfect wisdom and love. Our Father knows best how to provide for and protect His children.
When we are brokenhearted and our spirits are crushed, the Lord’s presence is especially near. He is not a distant observer but a compassionate and loving Father who draws close to comfort and save us. This closeness is a reminder that in our darkest times, we are not abandoned. Instead, we are enveloped by His love and grace.
Today, if you are facing troubles or your heart feels heavy, remember that your cries do not fall on deaf ears. The Lord is attentive to your voice and intimately aware of your pain. He is near, ready to bring you comfort and deliverance. Trust in His presence and His perfect understanding of your needs. Lean on Him, knowing that He will see you through every trial with His unfailing love.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for hearing our cries and being close to us in our times of trouble. Help us to trust in Your perfect wisdom and love, even when we feel overwhelmed and brokenhearted. Remind us of Your constant presence and deliverance. Comfort us with Your peace and save us with Your mighty hand. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
