Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture Reading:
1 John 5:18 (NIV) - "We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them."

Reflection:

In our journey of faith, there are times when the path ahead seems uncertain, and the weight of the world’s challenges can make us feel vulnerable. However, the assurance found in 1 John 5:18 provides us with a profound sense of security and peace. As children of God, we are reminded that our Father knows best and is always watching over us.

Being born of God means we are transformed by His grace and no longer live in a pattern of sin. Our relationship with Him redefines our existence, and we strive to walk in the light of His love and truth. This transformation is not of our own doing but is the work of Christ within us, who keeps us safe and shields us from the evil one.

Our Father's wisdom surpasses our understanding. He knows our strengths, our weaknesses, and our deepest fears. In His infinite love, He provides us with protection and guidance, ensuring that no harm can come to us beyond His will. This doesn’t mean we won’t face trials or temptations, but it assures us that we are never alone in these battles.

Today, let us rest in the knowledge that our Father knows what is best for us. He is our protector, our guide, and our constant companion. Trust in His wisdom, lean on His strength, and embrace the safety that comes from being His beloved child.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the assurance that You know what is best for us. Help us to live in the light of Your truth, free from the bondage of sin. Remind us daily of Your protection and love, and give us the strength to trust in Your plan for our lives. Keep us safe from the evil one, and guide us in Your ways. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thought for the Day:

No matter the challenges we face, our Father in Heaven knows best and will always keep us safe.
