Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:
Colossians 4:17
"And say to Archippus, ‘See that you fulfill the ministry that you have received in the Lord.’"

Reflection:
In Colossians 4:17, Paul gives a personal and direct charge to Archippus to fulfill the ministry he has received from the Lord. This verse serves as a reminder to each of us that we have been entrusted with specific responsibilities and callings by God. Our Father, in His infinite wisdom, knows our abilities, strengths, and potential, and He assigns us tasks accordingly.

Fulfilling our ministry means being faithful to the work God has called us to do, whether it is within our church, community, or personal relationships. It involves dedication, perseverance, and a reliance on God’s strength and guidance. The encouragement to Archippus is relevant to us today as we navigate our own paths and responsibilities.

It’s essential to remember that our ministry, whatever it may be, is given to us by the Lord. This means it is significant and purposeful, crafted by God who knows what is best for us and for those we serve. When we embrace our calling, we honor God and contribute to His kingdom in unique and meaningful ways.

Sometimes, fulfilling our ministry can be challenging. We might face obstacles, doubts, or discouragement. In these moments, it’s crucial to trust that God’s plan is perfect and that He will provide what we need to succeed. By staying committed and faithful, we demonstrate our trust in His wisdom and His provision.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the unique ministry and calling You have given each of us. Help us to fulfill our responsibilities with dedication and faithfulness, trusting in Your guidance and provision. Strengthen us to overcome challenges and remain steadfast in our work for Your kingdom. May we always remember that You know what is best for us and have equipped us for the tasks You have assigned. Amen.

Thought for the Day:
Embrace and fulfill the ministry God has given you, trusting that our Father knows best. Your unique calling is significant and purposeful, designed by God to impact His kingdom in profound ways.
