Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:
Exodus 14:14
"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."

Reflection:

In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the challenges and battles we face daily. Whether it’s the stress of work, the strain of relationships, or personal struggles, we often find ourselves trying to fight these battles on our own. Yet, the Bible reminds us that our Father knows best and that we are not alone in our struggles.

In Exodus 14:14, we see the Israelites facing what seemed to be an insurmountable obstacle. With the Red Sea before them and Pharaoh's army behind, panic set in. But Moses delivered a powerful message from God: “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” This verse is a profound reminder of God’s sovereignty and His willingness to intervene on our behalf.

Being still doesn’t mean being inactive; it means trusting God’s plan and timing. It’s about releasing our worries and control, allowing God to take charge. When we stop striving in our strength and start relying on His, we find peace and strength beyond our understanding.

God’s promise to fight for us is not just for the Israelites but for all His children. He sees every detail of our lives, knows every need, and understands every fear. Our Father, who knows best, asks us to trust Him, to be still, and to watch Him work wonders in our lives.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise to fight for us. Teach us to be still and trust in Your perfect plan. Help us to release our burdens and fears into Your capable hands, knowing that You are in control. Strengthen our faith and remind us daily that You are with us, guiding and protecting us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

**Thought for the Day:**

God’s strength is made perfect in our stillness. Trust Him with your battles today.
