Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop
Scripture:
2 Corinthians 12:10
“For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Reflection:
In our journey of faith, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the challenges we face—whether they are physical weaknesses, emotional pain, or external trials. We often wonder why God allows us to endure such hardships. But this verse from 2 Corinthians reminds us that our weaknesses are not a sign of defeat; rather, they are an opportunity for God’s strength to be made perfect in us.
When we face difficulties, we are drawn closer to God, relying not on our own strength but on His. It is in these moments of surrender that we find true power—the power of Christ resting upon us. Our Father, in His infinite wisdom, knows what is best for us. He allows us to experience hardships not to harm us, but to shape us, to draw us nearer to Him, and to make His glory known through our lives.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the trials and challenges that remind us of our need for You. Help us to embrace our weaknesses, knowing that Your strength is made perfect in them. May we find contentment in all circumstances, trusting that You are at work, even in our most difficult moments. Strengthen us, Lord, and use our lives to glorify Your name. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Thought for the Day:
When we are at our weakest, God is at His strongest. Trust that He knows what’s best for you, even in the midst of trials.
