Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:
Jas 3:18  And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Reflection:
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we often find ourselves caught up in the rush, trying to solve problems and manage conflicts with our own strength. We may believe that being right or having the final word is what matters most. But today's verse reminds us that our Father knows best, and His wisdom often guides us toward a path of peace rather than contention.

The world around us is filled with noise—arguments, disputes, and discord. Yet, God calls us to be peacemakers. He knows that true righteousness is not born out of strife but out of the peace we cultivate in our hearts and share with others. When we choose peace, even in difficult situations, we align ourselves with God's will and sow seeds that will yield a harvest of righteousness.

To be a peacemaker doesn't mean we avoid all conflicts or agree with everyone at all times. Instead, it means approaching every situation with a heart that seeks God's guidance, allowing His love and wisdom to shape our responses. It means trusting that, even when it feels difficult, choosing peace is the best path because it reflects the character of our Heavenly Father.

As we go about our day, let's remember that our Father knows best. Let's seek to sow peace in our interactions, trusting that God will bring forth a harvest of righteousness in His perfect time. When we place our faith in Him and choose to be instruments of His peace, we not only experience His blessings but also become a blessing to others.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wisdom and guidance. Help me to be a peacemaker, sowing seeds of peace and righteousness in every situation. Teach me to trust in Your ways, even when it's hard, and to remember that You know what's best for my life. May Your peace fill my heart and overflow into the lives of those around me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Application
Today, reflect on a situation where you might be tempted to react with frustration or anger. Instead, choose to approach it with peace. Ask God for the wisdom to respond in a way that honors Him and brings about His righteousness. Notice the difference it makes in your heart and in the situation itself.
