Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop
Scripture:
Romans 12:21 – “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
In a world filled with challenges, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the darkness and negativity around us. We see injustice, cruelty, and heartache, and sometimes it feels like the weight of it all is too much to bear. But our Heavenly Father reminds us that we are not to be overcome by this evil. Instead, we are called to rise above it by doing good.
God knows best how to navigate the trials we face. He has equipped us with the strength, grace, and love we need to respond to evil not with more evil, but with His goodness. When we follow His example, we reflect His light in the darkest places. Our actions, motivated by love, kindness, and mercy, become a testimony to His power and wisdom.
When the temptation to react with anger or despair arises, remember that God has a better plan. He asks us to trust in His way—overcoming evil by standing firm in goodness. Through Him, we find the courage to offer love where there is hate, peace where there is turmoil, and hope where there is despair.
Reflection Question:
How can I choose to overcome the challenges in my life by responding with God’s goodness today?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your wisdom and strength. Help me to follow Your example and overcome the evil I face with good. Give me the courage to reflect Your love and shine Your light wherever I go. Amen.
