Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

2 Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”

As believers, we live with the deep assurance that this world is not our final home. Paul speaks of this confidence—a longing to be with the Lord, free from the limitations of our earthly bodies. This verse reminds us that our ultimate destination is in the presence of God, where there is perfect peace, joy, and fulfillment.

While we navigate the challenges of life, our Father knows what is best for us, both here and in eternity. Though we may face trials, sickness, or suffering, we hold onto the hope of being with the Lord one day, in a place where all pain and sorrow are gone. This promise gives us courage and strength to persevere, knowing that our true home is with Him.

God’s wisdom is perfect. He understands our struggles and gives us the grace to endure while we are in this world. But He also prepares us for the day when we will leave behind our earthly bodies and be united with Him forever. Until that time, we trust in His plan, knowing that He is guiding us toward the eternal life He has promised.

Today, take comfort in the knowledge that your Father knows best. While we are here, we live by faith, confident that we are moving toward a glorious future with Him. Let this hope fill your heart and inspire you to live each day with purpose, as you look forward to the joy of being at home with the Lord.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the hope of being with You in eternity. Help me to live with confidence and faith, trusting in Your plan for my life. May I always keep my eyes fixed on the eternal home You have prepared for me. Amen.
