God With Us

Immanuel
God With Us
Immanuel, God with us,
A promise born in holy light,
Heaven bent to touch the earth
That long and silent night.
The first Noel on angel wings
Drifted o’er the plain,
A sacred song for weary hearts,
Good news forever plain.
No throne of gold, no royal crown,
Just straw where cattle lay,
Yet heaven knelt in reverent awe
That quiet, humble day.
Immanuel, forever near,
Not distant, cold, or far
God stepped into our fragile world
Just as we are.
So sing, O soul, that ancient truth
The shepherds knew so well:
God is with us, here and now
Immanuel. Noel.
Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
