Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop
Scripture:
Romans 6:13
“Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.”
Reflection:
As followers of Christ, we are called to live in the freedom He has given us—freedom from sin and the old ways that once held us captive. Romans 6:13 is a powerful reminder that our lives are no longer meant for sin, but for righteousness. Our Heavenly Father, who has brought us from death to life through His Son, calls us to offer ourselves fully to Him.
Every part of who we are—our minds, hearts, bodies, and actions—are meant to be instruments for God’s purpose. When we surrender ourselves to Him, He can use us to reflect His love, truth, and grace in the world. No longer slaves to sin, we are transformed into vessels of righteousness, bringing glory to the One who gave us life.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for rescuing me from sin and bringing me from death to life. I offer myself to You today, every part of who I am. Use me as an instrument of righteousness for Your kingdom. Help me to turn away from anything that pulls me back into sin and to live in the freedom and purpose You’ve given me. Amen.
Challenge:
Today, think about an area of your life where you may be holding back from God. Surrender it to Him and ask Him to use you fully as an instrument of righteousness in His hands. Trust in His perfect plan for your life.
