 Daily Devotional:
"Our Father Knows Best"
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture
James 4:14
Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.

Reflection
In this verse, James reminds us of the fleeting nature of life and our limited understanding of the future. We often make plans and set goals, assuming we have control over what tomorrow will bring. However, life is uncertain and unpredictable. Our time on earth is brief, like a mist that appears for a moment and then vanishes. This reality calls us to a deeper trust in God's wisdom and sovereignty.

Our Father knows best what each day will bring and how to guide us through the uncertainties of life. By acknowledging the brevity of our existence and our dependence on Him, we can live with greater humility and purpose. Trusting in God's plan allows us to focus on what truly matters: living according to His will, loving others, and making the most of the time we are given.

Application
Trust in God's Plan: Recognize that you do not control the future. Trust that God, who holds tomorrow, knows what is best for you. Surrender your plans to Him and seek His guidance in all things.

Live Purposefully: Use your time wisely, focusing on what is eternal rather than temporary. Invest in your relationship with God, love others, and make decisions that honor Him.

Embrace Humility: Accept the limitations of your understanding and abilities. Humble yourself before God, acknowledging that He alone knows the future and holds your life in His hands.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me of the brevity of life and the importance of trusting in Your perfect plan. Help me to surrender my future to You and to live each day with purpose and humility. Teach me to focus on what truly matters and to make decisions that honor You. Thank You for Your wisdom and sovereignty, knowing that You always know what is best for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thought for the Day
Our Father knows best what each day will bring. Trust in His wisdom, live purposefully, and embrace the fleeting nature of life with humility and faith.

Closing
As you go through your day, remember that life is brief and uncertain, but our Father knows best. Trust in His plan, live with purpose, and make the most of the time you are given. Our Father truly knows best.
