Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop
Scripture
Matthew 19:14: “But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’”
Reflection
In Matthew 19:14, Jesus reminds us of the pure and trusting nature of children, which is precisely the attitude He desires from us. When children come to Him, they do so without pretense, with complete faith and open hearts. They trust in His love and care without question. This simplicity and trust are what make them the perfect example for us to follow.
As adults, we often get bogged down by our worries, complexities, and the need to control our lives. We forget that our Heavenly Father knows what is best for us. Just as a child trusts a parent’s guidance and protection, we too should trust in God’s wisdom and love. He sees the bigger picture and understands our needs more deeply than we do ourselves.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to come to You with the heart of a child, trusting fully in Your love and wisdom. Teach me to let go of my worries and to lean on Your understanding. Guide me in every step and help me to remember that You know what is best for me. Amen.
Thought for the Day
When we approach life with the trust and faith of a child, we open ourselves to the full blessings of God’s kingdom. Our Father knows best, and He is always ready to guide us with His loving hand.
