Treasured years

The year's gone by remain more precious as time flies.
Being blessed to view through my mind's eyes.

Where does the time go? No one seems to know.
Seemingly to disappear somewhere beyond the rainbow.

The Treasure at the end is a collection of many friends.
Bringing flowing tears of love that never end.

All beyond reach and out of sight.
I try to touch with all my might.

Some things are best left in the past.
Oh, how time travels so fast.

I think it's good we don't have a choice in the matter.
Leaving it to God is the only divine answer.

The memories of another day

The memories of another day linger in my heart and mind
Pondering for many hours the feeling I can not seem to find

Fond memories of my childhood. I felt warm and whole
Please tell me, where did those innocent years go

Time travels as swiftly as light
In a moment, turning into night

There is only one Lighthouse that will guide me safely ashore
The Shining Light of Jesus abiding within me forevermore

Harmony

Does my life play in a symphony with others around me
Do I hear and see musical notes that are in tune with my ear

Am I looking at the music and not the conductor
Harmony comes by following the instructor

My life is the same, keeping my eye on The Maker of the Universe
Continuing daily to pray and rehearse

My heart is out of tune

My heart is out of tune. I can feel the missed beat
It's almost like marching with two left feet

A competent Cardiologist I should see
With proper consultation, he will remedy me

My soul is much the same way. If it's not in tune with God
Life's path I will be unable to trod

Dr. God will lovingly consult with me
Prescribing His Son Jesus to set me free

I am what I am

What makes me what I am? Many things I suspect would contribute.
I would give God and my family the greatest tribute

Mama nurtured me when I was a child
I will never forget her warm, loving smile

My dad taught me respect came from within, not without
He taught me what life is all about

Most important, we all went to church on Sunday
Always being taught that was the Lord's Holy Day

Learning of my maker gave me respect for all humankind
Pausing to feel Him in my Heart and my mind

I am what I am and forever will be
Because God's Son Jesus lives in me

Have you seen Jesus

Have you seen Jesus? He's not in the tomb.
Look, He might be standing in the room.

So many don't look till they need His Help.
He doesn't mind. He will always respond to your call for Help.

If I had only known earlier in life
I could have avoided much less strife.

Whether now or whether then
He is patiently waiting for all men.

Some People

“Some people will never like you because your spirit irritates their demons.” (1)
Since I don't work for them, it doesn't hurt my feelings.

I am praying for them because they are a child of God.
They have to deal with their own chastening rod.

(1) Quote by Denzel Washington

Compartmentalize

Compartmentalize is a very long and strange word
Being a word that is seldom heard

Meaning to categorize feelings inside, much like a file drawer
Before they come flooding forth, spilling on the floor

Finding the easiest way to compartmentalize for me
Turning all my feelings over to Jesus so that through His eyes, I might see

I was born blind

I was born blind I may not physically see
I was born blind that he may be Glorified through me

Many things I do not understand. God's ways are not my ways
Only God's way is the only correct path today

God knows much more than I
Accepting His will, I cannot deny

Thank you, God, for molding me the way I am
That my life will Glorify You The Great I am.
