Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop
Scripture:
âFor where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.â
â Matthew 18:20 (NIV)
Reflection:
In life, we often find ourselves overwhelmed by decisions, challenges, and uncertainties. We may question what the future holds or whether weâre making the right choices. In these moments of confusion, itâs easy to feel isolated, as though we are walking alone. Yet, Matthew 18:20 offers a beautiful reminder that we are never truly alone when we come together in Christâs name. Even in the smallest of gatherings, the presence of God is promised.
The power of this verse is not just in the gathering itself, but in the intention behind itâwhen we seek Godâs wisdom, guidance, and peace with others who share our faith, we can rest assured that He is in our midst. It is a reminder that our Father always knows whatâs best for us. We donât have to have all the answers, because when we gather in faith, weâre inviting the One who does. He will guide, comfort, and provide exactly what we need.
The Lord encourages us to draw near to Him, and one of the ways we do that is through fellowship with fellow believers. Whether itâs in a large congregation, a small prayer group, or even just with one other person, Godâs presence is there. We donât have to walk this journey aloneâGod places others in our lives for mutual encouragement and support, knowing that together, we are stronger.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your promise to be with us whenever we gather in Your name. Help us to remember that in times of uncertainty or struggle, we are not alone. Lead us to seek the fellowship of others who also trust in You, so that together we can experience Your presence and discern Your perfect will. May we always remember that You know whatâs best for us, and we trust in Your guidance every day. In Jesusâ name, Amen.
Thought for the Day:
When we gather in Christâs name, His wisdom and presence are always with us. Trust that our Father knows best, and seek His will together.

Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop
Scripture:
âHe said to them: âIt is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.â
â Acts 1:7
Reflection:
As humans, we crave certainty. We often want to know what the future holdsâwhen our prayers will be answered, when relief will come, or when our hopes will be fulfilled. But Jesus reminds us in Acts 1:7 that there are things only God knows. The âtimes and datesâ of Godâs plans are not ours to control or even understand fully.
This can be challenging, especially when we are waiting for answers or clarity. Yet, trusting in Godâs timing is an act of faith. When we acknowledge that the Father holds all authority, we can rest in the assurance that He is working things out for our good, even when we canât see it.
Our job is not to figure out when or how everything will unfold, but to trust and obey. Godâs timing is always perfect. Though we may not know all the details, we can trust that our Father knows best, and He is guiding our lives according to His divine wisdom and love.
Prayer:
Father, help me to trust in Your perfect timing. Even when I donât know when or how things will happen, I choose to rest in him the knowledge that You are in control. Teach me to wait patiently and faithfully, knowing that Your plans are always good. Amen.
Thought for the Day:
Godâs timing may not align with ours, but His plans are always worth the wait. Trust Him with the unknown.

Scripture:
âMay the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.â
â Romans 15:13
Reflection:
In life, we often face moments of uncertainty, frustration, and confusion. We make plans, set goals, and sometimes things donât unfold the way we envisioned. During these moments, itâs easy to doubt and wonder why things arenât going as we hoped.
But our Father knows best. He sees the bigger picture, guiding us with wisdom beyond our understanding. Like a parent caring for a child, He sometimes allows us to face challenges, not to harm us, but to shape us, grow us, and bring us closer to Him. As we learn to trust Him, He fills us with joy and peace, even in difficult times.
Romans 15:13 reminds us that when we trust in God, we are not left empty. Instead, He fills us with hope that overflows. This hope isnât dependent on circumstances but is powered by the Holy Spirit living in us. Trusting in God means surrendering our plans and believing that His ways are higher, filled with purpose and love.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to trust in Your wisdom and plan for my life. Fill me with joy and peace as I place my hope in You. May the Holy Spirit strengthen me to overflow with hope, knowing You are always in control. Amen.
Thought for the Day:
Trust in Godâs timing, for His plans are greater than our own.
