We've all made promises, some good some bad
A few made you mad, a few made you glad
Keeping those promises is what counts
The real truth in you will surely be announced
God's promises are forever true
Thousands are there waiting for you
Reading His Word will surely reveal them at the right time
As you approach The Throne of Grace, in your long difficult climb

The dark clouds of Vietnam loom over our bowed heads today.
Those who served and died so that we might have freedom, I pray.
Those that lay down their life for another, their sacrifice we can not understand.
No man can have greater love than to lay down his life for his fellow man.
Many were criticized for serving their country and doing what they were told.
Death crosses party lines, caring not about the politics of old.

It was the Old Dixie Theatre when I was a just kid
Now, a Theatre of The Performing Arts
Oh, time forbid.
Time has taken its toll on me. I can’t walk or talk and barely see.
I lay here in my room reminiscing, often shedding a tear
There is one thing I can do that lifts my spirits
Remembering old-fashioned tunes and their lyrics
Constantly in prayer for all my family now
I can’t recall all their names, but God knows somehow
I am looking forward to the day I will rest in His Peace
Until then I’ll just keep plodding along until my life doth cease

I can see the little rusty red wagon in my mind
I used to hall many different things all the time
From here to there, sometimes pulling my Teddy Bear
It made me happy, I loved him so dear
Time has passed away, that was a long time ago
I'm very happy now just feeling the wind blow

Someone has a birthday every day
We should celebrate all the time I’d say
Lots of good food and chocolate cake
A very happy person that would make
However, that won't work
Eating that much I'd be a jerk
Once a year is more than enough I guess
God’s original plan seems to be the very best

A true friend is worth more than gold
That's what the Good Book says I'm told
If you get off on the wrong track
A true friend will gently guide you back
A true friend will listen to you all-day
Having a genuine interest in what you say
Is there a friend that can be with you near or far
Jesus, if you ask Him, where ever you are
Jesus cares because he is love
He is sent, to help us, from His Father above
No better friend you will ever find
Bowing your head and calming your mind

The old horse-drawn stagecoach, help tame the west
Bringing men and women dressed in their Sunday best
Not being a trip for the faint of heart
Dirt, heat and sweat from the very start
Horses pulled with all their great might, to reach the changing post
Giving all they had as a team, for the masters they loved most
Transporting passengers to and from the wild wild west
Bringing some civility by those who were surely blest
The west was changed into what it is today
Because the old stagecoach blazed the way

As politicians come and go throughout history
Are we better or worse off, that remains the mystery
The answers will elude the inquisitive minds
of those searching for the great conspiracy

Arlington National Cemetery is the most hallowed Ground I will ever see.
Those who served, many died to preserve freedom for you and me
If I could hear the many memories they would share
Those dreadful memories I could not begin to bear
The only solace I have here on this day
They rest in calm peace, oh Lord I pray.

A person is tried with a jury of twelve.
Hoping in their souls the truth they will delve
Elections decided by a jury of the masses
The difference is, the amount of money that passes
If the love of money is the root of all evil
Will all future elections be won by the devil
