The Journey

In mercy’s embrace, we stand firm, unfazed,With ministries graced, our spirits unrazed. For though we are fragile, in clay jars we hold,A treasure divine, in His power bold.

Pressed on all sides, yet unbroken, we stand,Perplexed, yet our hope in despair does not strand.Persecuted, not forsaken, in trials we’re found,Struck down, yet in us, His life does abound.

Carrying within, the death of our Lord,So in our mortal frames, His life is outpoured.Though outwardly fading, inwardly we glow,Renewed day by day, His grace we come to know.

Light and momentary, our troubles seem to weigh,Yet they earn for us a glory, that forever will stay. Not on the transient do our eyes set their gaze,But on the eternal, unseen, through the haze.

“Keeping Heart in Jesus’ Power,” we proclaim,For in His strength, we overcome every flame. In weakness, His power is made perfect, complete,In jars of clay, His treasure, our victory’s seat.

I’ll Be Set Free

In whispered prayers, a soul’s decree,“Thank God, when I pass, I’ll be set free.”A journey’s end, not bound by earth,A passage to a second birth.

No shackles of pain, no chains of despair,Just boundless skies and fresh, sweet air.A freedom that the heart does seek,In quiet moments, when spirits speak.

Through valleys dark and mountains steep,The promise is His to keep.A solace found in faith’s embrace,A journey to a sacred place.

So when the final breath does flee,And eyes close to what was and will be,With grateful heart, the soul does see,“Thank God, I’m free, eternally.”

A Chorus of the Ages

In halls where echoes softly tread, beneath the steeples high,
A chorus of the ages, beneath the vaulted sky.
The hymns of old, with words like gold, are fading day by day,
A treasure trove of wisdom, in silence starts to fray.

“Bring back the songs,” the whispers plead, in every wooden pew,
The melodies that souls would feed, with truths forever true.
The ancient notes, in harmony, a balm for every pain,
A bridge across the centuries, in every refrain.

For in those lines of grace and fears, of battles won and lost,
Lie messages through all the years, that hold no costly cost.
The youth in search, with hearts aflame, for answers deep and wide,
Need hear the hymns that once did claim, the truth that does not hide.

Why let them waste, these hymns of old, with power to mend and save?
Their stories, precious, bold, a light in every grave.
The hymns that once did shake the walls, and stir the soul’s deep sea,
A call to arms, when duty calls, for you, for me.

Let not the chance to sing them fade, like mist at morning’s light,
Their legacy should not be laid, in shadows of the night.
For in their verses, strong and clear, a message does reside,
That every yearning heart should hear, a guide through time and tide.

So, churches, raise those hymns once more, let them your services fill,
Their truths are what the young souls yearn, their void, no modern song can fill.
A hymn of old, a heart made bold, can light the darkest way,
For songs of old, their worth untold, are what we need today.

Yesterday Today Someday

Yesterday whispered tales in the hue of dusk, A book of shadows, softly closed, a memory's musk. It danced in echoes, in the corners of my mind, A melody of moments, sweetly intertwined.

Today stands bold, in the light of the sun's embrace, A canvas fresh, with strokes of now, and present grace. It sings with laughter, cries in rain, in vivid tone, A bridge between what's been and dreams yet to be sown.

Someday, a mystery, veiled in the mists of time, A realm of dreams, where hopes and wishes climb. It holds a promise, a beacon bright, on distant shore, A symphony of possibilities, of openings and more.

From yesterday to today, and then to someday's light, We walk, we dance, we leap, with hearts so brave and bright. In every moment, every breath, a chance to see, The beauty of our journey, a tapestry to be.

Love’s Gentle Whispers

In the gentle whispers of the dawn, where light begins, A truth as old as time itself, quietly spins. Upon the canvas of the heart, a vivid hue, The essence of love, ever so true.

Love is patient, a gentle stream that flows, Love is kind, in its warmth, compassion glows. It harbors no envy, wears no guise of pride, In the humblest of moments, by your side.

It boasts not of its deeds, nor seeks its own gain, In the silence of selflessness, it remains. Not easily angered, it forgives and forgets, Holding no ledger of debts.

It finds no joy in the sorrow of wrongdoing, But dances in the light, truth pursuing. Through storms and trials, it stands firm, it endures, Its hope and trust, forever secure.

Love never falters, never wanes, never tires, In the face of despair, it inspires. It protects, perseveres, believes, and trusts, A beacon in the night, in it, we must.

For love, in its essence, is a force profound, In its embrace, life's true meaning is found. So let us love, not just in words, but in deed, For love is the greatest gift, our hearts' creed.

Love never fails, it's the eternal song, Uniting hearts, making the weak strong. In the tapestry of time, its thread gleams bright, A testament of hope, in the darkest night.

1Co 13:4  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
1Co 13:5  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
1Co 13:6  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
1Co 13:7  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1Co 13:8  Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

For the Love He Gave

In lands where the southern borders lie, Under the vast and embracing sky, In Texas, Arizona, and California’s embrace, Easter’s meaning finds a new grace.

For thousands, the message is clear and bright, As dawn dispels the shadows of night, A celebration of hope that will soon unfurl, Uniting hearts across the world.

We praise God for this season anew, For the promise of life and beginnings true, As we prepare to honor our Savior’s fight, His victory over death, a glorious sight.

In the coming days, let us all unite In gratitude for this triumph, this light, Our Savior’s love, so vast and deep, A promise He made, a promise He keeps.

So let us thank God as we draw near To celebrate Easter, so dear, For the victory over sin and grave, For the love He gave, and for the world He saved.

Beyond Myself

Let me be a vessel pure, of Your will, not mine, A bearer of the light that in the dark does shine. God, use me beyond myself, let me be the one, To carry forth Your purpose until all is done.

In humble service, let my hands move at Your behest, To lift the fallen, soothe the weary into rest. May every step draw the map of Your grand design, Where every heartbeat echoes with the divine.

Not for glory mine, but for the love You spread, To break the bread of life, to share as You have said. Grant me the strength to stand where shadows may run deep, To speak the words of peace to those who in sorrow weep.

God, take this fleeting breath, this fleeting beat of heart, Mold it into a prayer, Your masterpiece of art. Use me beyond myself, a conduit of Your grace, Till at the journey's end, I meet You face to face.

God Loves You And So Do I

In the whispers of Tom Lykins, wisdom does resound, "Remember Eternity, where truth is profoundly found. Way too long to be wrong, in its endless song, It's never mistaken to live right, to be strong.

Let sorrow’s chains be shattered, forever ended, Let the friendless find warmth, their spirits mended. In acts of kindness, let our hearts convey, Help somebody, somehow, today.

May we embody the grace of Jesus, hands and feet, In every moment, every challenge we meet. When opportunity knocks, let us open the door, With love and compassion, forevermore.

Remember, God's love is a ceaseless, radiant glow, A truth Tom Lykins wishes all to know. In this journey, under the vast, starlit sky, God loves you, and so do I.

“Inspired by the sentiments and wisdom of Tom Lykins, K4LID, this poem echoes the messages of hope, kindness, and eternal love.

Smile When Your Heart is Broken

In the dance of time, where moments glide, There lies a truth we often hide. A sorrow deep, where shadows creep, Yet from this soil, a joy can leap.

"Don't cry because it is over," the wise ones say, Let not your heart with dusk dismay. The setting sun, though it departs, Leaves its warmth within our hearts.

Smile, for the journey graced your days, Through verdant fields and starlit ways. Each laughter shared, every tear shed, Are jewels upon the path we tread.

Because it happened, our souls grew wide, With every twist and turn of tide. The tapestry of life, in colors bright, Shines not in sorrow, but in light.

So let the memories, like flowers, bloom, In the garden of the heart, dispel the gloom. For every ending marks a new start, Carry the smiles within your heart.

In this dance of time, be not afraid, For in each ending, foundations laid. Smile, because it happened, embrace the dance, With every fleeting chance, take your stance.

The Path Less Traveled

Upon a path less trod by feet, Where earth and heaven softly meet, I wander far, with soul in quest, To find the place where I’ll be blessed.

Through woods deep, under skies so vast, Each step a memory of the past, I tread where few have dared to roam, In search of peace, a heart’s true home.

The journey long, the way obscure, Each bend and turn with promise pure, That at its end, so sweet, so fleet, I’ll meet God’s Son, a feat so sweet.

No crowded roads with noise and strife, But silent trails, where springs of life Burst forth in song, in light, in leaf, And whisper hope, dispel my grief.

In solitude, my spirit hears The call of God, which calms my fears. Each leaf, each stone, a sacred text, On this path less known, my soul reflects.

To meet the Son, the Living Word, In quiet places, seldom heard, Where brooks and birds and wind entwine, There, in the heart, His love divine.

So on I walk, with faith my guide, To where the earthly and divine collide. The path less traveled by human feet, Leads to Jesus, in communion sweet.

A meeting place, no grandeur seeks, But humble hearts, and souls that speak Of journeys long, of seeking rest, In God’s embrace, forever blessed.
