I loved

It’s not easy remembering the good times
For in my heart the toll of love chimes

When my loved one leaves I must continue on
I can’t look back or tarry too long

It’s most advantageous to move slowly I must say
Filling the void in my heart, it takes time to pray

My soul is seeking the love that has vanished
It’s most appropriate that I feel some anguish

I’m never to forget the love I cherished
focusing on the past I will surely perish

Moving ahead finding new ways to love
Will surely fill my soul making me whole

I bow my head every day Thanking God for the Love He keeps sending my way

Faith is the Key

Faith is the Key that opens the door
To a world of Love and so much more

Love Beyond my understanding I can't explain
I can only receive it and pass it on again and again

Faith in God through His Son Jesus Christ
Will bring his best to you in your life

Whether your life here on this earth
Whether your life since your Spiritual rebirth

Life here or life hereafter is yours for the asking
Be sure to do the asking before your passing

Rev 3:7  "To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

Having Faith in God

World Day of Remembrance: God’s helping hand
Having Faith in God I will whistle while I work
Joy overflowing coming from within my heart

Having met my Savior on that dusty road one day
I can't help but follow him all along the way

Thank you, God, for sending Your Son Jesus
That knowing Him He will never leave us.

My Purpose

In shadows deep, where despair resides,
A broken soul with weary strides.

The world's weight upon fragile shoulders,
Lost in a sea where hope smolders.

But listen now, dear heart, take heed,
For in the darkest hour, there's a seed.

A flicker of light amidst the gloom,
A divine whisper, dispelling the tomb.

For there is no life so shattered, it seems,
That God can't heal with His sacred dreams.

With tender hands, He mends the shattered,
Stitching together what others have scattered.

He takes the fragments, so very worn
Breathes life anew, where hope was torn.

He sees the beauty in every scar,
A masterpiece formed from the shadows afar.

For every heart, no matter how broken,
Has a purpose, yet to be awoken.

In trials and pain, a story unfolds,
In the depths of despair, a purpose unfolds.

Through valleys low and mountains high,
God's grace lifts wings, ready to fly.

He gives strength to rise from the ashes,
Transforms sorrow into joyous flashes.

So let not despair be your guiding light,
Let faith be the compass in your darkest night.

For God's hand reaches out, never too late,
To restore, renew, and consecrate.

There is no life so broken or strained,
That God's love cannot wholly sustain.

In His embrace, find solace and worth,
For He is the purpose that gives life its birth

Neh 1:9  But if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.'

Faith that works

In the realm where faith and action intertwine,
Resides a truth, profound and divine.

For in the scripture, we find wisdom's voice,
A guiding light to help us make our choice.

"If one says, 'Go in peace, keep warm and fed,'
Yet fails to act and leaves them in their dread,

What good is spoken without deeds to bind,
The words we utter, mere echoes left behind?"

In words alone, faith's flame may briefly shine,
But actions ignite its fire, so sublime.

For faith, unaccompanied by righteous deeds,
Loses its purpose and no longer leads.

So let us not be content with empty phrases,
But let our actions shine through life's mazes.

Let compassion guide our hands, hearts, and will,
To comfort, uplift, and the voids to fill.

For faith, alive and vibrant, springs to life,
When it finds purpose in relieving strife.

Let us be doers, not just hearers alone,
Embodying love in deeds, seeds we have sown.

In acts of kindness, hope takes solid form,
Transforming lives in the midst of the storm.

By lending aid to those in desperate need,
We fulfill the scriptures, a noble creed.

So, as the pages of life continue to turn,
Let us remember the lessons we discern.

May faith and action intertwine and blend,
As we strive to love, to heal, to mend.

For faith, when rooted in actions we pursue,
Becomes a force that can renew and imbue.

With love as our guide and deeds as our art,
We embody the faith that warms every heart

Jas 2:16  If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
Jas 2:17  In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

The difference

Living Life to the fullest is finding contentment in what I have
Knowing there is more to life than birthing a golden calf

Satisfaction in life comes from the inside, guided by my soul
The accumulation of worldly things in no way will make me whole

God’s Love, Mercy, and Grace make all the difference in what I do
The answer is His Son, Jesus. He sent to die for me, and you

My Journey

On my journey through this old world of sin
I'm getting mighty tired. Will it ever end

Heading on Home to a restful place with no fear
The closer I get, the louder His whisper in my ear

Come on Home to rest with no end
With Joy and peace, you can't comprehend

Take my hand and remove this worldly pain
I only have God's Wonderous Glory to gain

Thank you, Jesus, for walking with me all these years
Its time to walk home with You where there are no tears

Thank you, God, for sending your Son
For this worldly race, I will have won

Uncle Jack

                   Jack Daniels Distillary
Uncle Jack has always been my best friend.
He stayed with me through my trials to the end.

What ever I was going through, I could depend on Uncle Jack
Then one-day things looked so gravely black

Poor Old Uncle Jack died that lonely day .
Now I have a better friend to help me along the way.

I found him by accident when I cried. I can't live this way.
Hearing my cry, He came into my heart that day.

Never alone, never alone. God's son Jesus came in to stay.
Now bowing my head and thanking him when I pray.

RIP, Uncle Jack Daniels

The Final Journey

I've taken many journeys in my life
Most of them have been with my wife

Enjoying the sights and sounds
Usually, adding a few extra pounds

As time goes by and I grow older
Realizing the journey is in the eye of the beholder

More journeys behind than ahead of me now
I’m trying to cross the finish line somehow

The last journey I will travel all alone
With only Jesus showing me the way home

That you, God, for the many journeys in life
Thank you most for the Guide to lessen my strife
