The Old #3 General

I was built in 1855
As sturdy as could be

I was strong and heavyweight
For whoever needed me

I could move people
I could move supplies
I could move most anything in GOD’S eyes

It was not for me to decide
What they used me for was right or wrong

It was only for me
To be very strong

I worked hard all day and night
Never a moment of fright

I did the best I could
All day and all night

One day I got tired
New Engines had come along

I retired without a regret
Still with a happy song

My whistle I still hear
In echos of days gone by

Remembering the hardships
without even a cry

I’m resting now
In the Southern Museum of Civil war
And Locomotive History

For all to see
And remember me

The moment of Mystery
When I made History

Pimlico Rural Fire Dept. Company 5

Fire Fighter EMTs are a resourceful lot
They show up Johnny on the spot

No waste of time accessing the situation
Their training provides much-needed information

They kneel by your side to ease the pain
They show compassion even in the rain

Their not angels they say
But GOD put them here anyway

Love flows from their hands to you
Just like JESUS would do

So the next time you see them in action
Say a little prayer that GOD may help them
Complete their task with much satisfaction

On The Way To Nashville

Painting by Spike O’Dell W4WGN Brentwood Tennessee
I’m just an old Country Boy
With a song in my heart

Traveling on the way to Nashville
Hoping someone will give me a start

No money No food
Just a dream in my head

Oh Lord Oh Lord
Let me make it big
Before I’m dead

I just need a chance
To sing my song

Ever since she left me
I’ve been all wrong

I know there are better days ahead
Cause it can’t get no worse

I feel like it’s around the corner
I’m about to burst

Oh Lord Oh Lord give me a break
That’s all I ask in His Namesake

Testimony for the BFN “Bible Fellowship Net”

I’m just a Kentucky country boy. Nothing more, nothing less.
The only difference I Have is Christ living inside me.

I accepted Christ at the young age of 6 at home in my mother’s lap.
I guess my parents saw I was under conviction. They called our Pastor, Reverend Raymond Ward. They didn’t want to take a chance on waiting till Sunday.
There was no doubt that the love of Christ came into my heart.
He has always been with me, but I have not always walked with him.

I always, as a kid, loved radios and taking them apart. Thus my interest developed in Amateur Radio. My mentor was my Uncle Hansford Scott W4NGZ.

Having been born into a Funeral Home Family
I was carrying flowers at an early age for my father. Not interested in the funeral business, I pursued another career.

Developing a love for airplanes watching Sky King and Penny on the Shy King Show
I decided to choose an aviation career.
After receiving my private pilot’s license during my senior year in high school, I chose to attend
Arizona State University majoring in Aeronautical Technology,
After graduating, being employed by Boeing or Lockheed.

My father was trying to operate his small Funeral Business back home in Kentucky, plus operate an ambulance service by himself.
My conscience told me I should help him.
I have been in the Funeral Business ever since.

There have been many ups and downs, but Jesus leveled them all.

To put a long story short.
Suppose you could see where Jesus brought me from to where I am today. You would know why I love Him so much and want to serve him every day.

I am currently going through a spiritual revival through the mentorship of the devoted members of the Bible Fellowship Net on 80 meters.

I pray everyone can find the living Christ I have found that provides eternal life and more abundant life here on earth.

Joshua 1:5
No one can stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Knowing I was going to be in an HOA when I retired to South Carolina from Arizona.
I gave my radio equipment to the local ham club for any youngsters needing help.

If my testimony is too long.
Drop everything except the first and last paragraphs.

Thanks

At our 50th Anniversary April 11, 2021
I don’t have a Ham Shack or radio room
I have an Icom 7300 and an ALS 600 on a Craftsman Tool Cart behind my recliner.

I had Rehab Today

I went to my first session of Rehab today
I didn’t know what to expect
I was anxious anyway

I was greeted by Maria
She had a smile on their face
She seemed to be full of Grace

I was escorted into a room
And was told this would not hurt
I was still concerned and very alert

Then a nice young lady
Explained everything as we went
It seemed to help me relax a bit

After the session was over
I understood what she meant
I felt it had been time well spent

I can’t thank Kim enough
Because she was remarkably easy
I never felt the slightest bit queasy

They are Angels
I’m sure it’s true
Because of the kind of work they do
