My Hearing Aids

Turn your hearing aids on so you can hear all the gossip in the air
Turn your hearing aids on so you can tell if they begin to swear

Keep fresh batteries so you can pry
Without those hearing aids, you will surely cry

If you get tired of the conservation remove them with great elation
You can have perfect peace and quiet in any situation

God gave us hearing aids so we could hear every little thing
Or if we’re so am-mind too, take ‘em out and not hear a darn thing

So the moral of this story is to wear them as a badge of honor
If you can’t find them in the morning you are surely a goner

The Car Hauler

Brad Vanatta KK4CSJ
GOD watches over me no matter where I roam
I drive a Peterbilt named Nellie Bell, she always brings me home.

Hauling cars from here to there, taking them to their destination.
Always feeling HIS Presence, keeping me from frustration

Every time I turn into the drive headed home
I bow my head and thank HIM for riding along

Sorry

I'm sorry it's so, I'm obliged to go
I can't stay in one place very long you know

I have to keep traveling on down the line
Happy as I can be, I'm feeling mighty fine

My momma done left me,the kids are all grown
I ain't got no reason to stay at home

Free as a bird, not two pennies to rub together
I feel like the richest man on this earth ever

I'm out of jail, the whole world is mine
All I need is just a big ole bottle of wine

We're all gonna die somewhere makes no difference to me
I ain't got nobody to spend no money to bury me

When I lay my head down for the last time
I just thank GOD iv’e been blessed all this time

Frosty the Glasgow Man

Foster ”Frosty” Sanderson
Frosty was a kind and gentle soul.
I remember his face from long ago.

The little red wagon he pulled, his dog that tagged along.
He didn't have a care in the world always humming a song.

I'm not saying he was perfect, for he was just a man.
Seems like the Good Book says Love covers our earthly plans.

Kind memories of Frosty speak for themselves.
So love is everlasting, even if perpetuated by ourselves.

The Perm

A traveling salesman in the south at the time
My wife convinced me to get a perm, that my income might climb

With my new look, nothing could hamper me
The sales would soar. The money Would be flowing so free

At my first stop, I proudly entered the door
Only having their comments, dash my hopes to the floor

The Poet Society of South Carolina

“The Poet Society of South Carolina” was born over a hundred years ago.
It was born in Charleston to keep its city aglow.

Many readings and late-night meetings on King Street
seemed to make the Creations oh so sweet.

As time moved on, The Poet Society evolved.
Its aim is that every community be involved.

The taboo of the rich and famous having been left behind.
We are opening new doors to the young and old, with Creative Minds.

Where we go in the future is difficult to see.
We are leaving it to the children of you and me.

Leftovers

Leftovers are the most misunderstood creation of mankind
We’re not sure where they come from, they confuse the mind

Often thinking of leftovers we think of food
The second time around puts us in a better mood

Have you ever assembled a grill, bookcase, or Bike
I bet you had more parts than you would like

Leftovers are just a natural law of the land
Better to have leftovers than none in the hand
