The Blood of the Lamb

In the sun-scorched fields where shadows play,
A drama unfolds in the heat of day.
A rattlesnake, deadly, with venom cold,
Struck a sheep in the face, so bold.

The venom surged, a deadly tide,
The sheep's face swollen, a painful ride.
Yet in this tale, the snake did not see,
The resilience in the blood of the sheep, so free.

For in the lamb's veins, a secret lay,
The antidote, in its blood, at bay.
Two days of swelling, yet stronger than venom's aim,
The lamb's blood fought back, reclaiming its fame.

Unfazed, the sheep continued its day,
Eating, drinking, in its own way.
Walking the fields, under the sun's glare,
Knowing well, its blood was rare.

So heed the tale of the lamb and snake,
The power of resilience, make no mistake.
Do not fear the serpent, nor its venom's bite,
Just ensure the Lamb's Blood is your light.

Better to Have Loved and Lost

In halls where silence paints the air,
Where echoes dance, bereft of care,
A senior dog, with fur turned gray,
In sheltered shadows, finds his way.

No youthful bark, no playful leap,
Just longing sighs, in slumber deep.
Yet in his eyes, a spark remains,
A testament to love's sweet pains.

For those who've loved and seen depart
A loyal friend, a piece of heart,
Know well the pain that parting brings,
Yet cherish still the love it sings.

Better far to have shared the road,
To have eased the weight, to have lightened the load,
Than let one pass, in silent gloom,
Alone, unloved, in a shelter's room.

For every moment spent in grace,
Each gentle touch, each fond embrace,
Illuminates the darkest night,
With memories burning ever bright.

So let us choose, while yet we may,
To love, to cherish, come what may.
For better far to have loved and lost,
Than leave a soul in winter's frost.

To save one life, a noble quest,
To offer love, and give our best,
For in the end, our hearts will show,
The depth of love only they can know.

Unconditional Love

Dogs are my favorite people, true and dear,
With tails that wag in joy, drawing near.
They speak in barks, in whines, and gentle sighs,
Their words unspoken, seen within their eyes.

In fields they roam, in dreams they chase the light,
Under the sun, beneath the moon so bright.
They love without a hint of guile or pride,
Beside us, in their loyalty, they reside.

No judgment cast, no grudges ever held,
In their embrace, our fears are swiftly quelled.
Through storms and calm, they stand by, staunch and bold,
Their warmth a refuge from the outside cold.

In every dog, a heart of gold does beat,
With every wag, they make our lives complete.
No better friend, companion, or confidant,
In dogs, we find the souls we've always wanted.

So here's to dogs, the best of all our friends,
Their love, a kind that never, ever ends.
They teach us joy, and how to truly live,
To them, my heart, my thanks, I gladly give.

A Whisper of Hope

In life's shadowed valleys, where fear often dwells,
Came a whisper of hope, like distant church bells.
The news of a storm, a tempest named cancer,
Led me to seek, in companions, an answer.

To the shelter I went, where dreams seem to pause,
And there I found Rich, with his wise, gentle paws.
At the back of his kennel, resigned to his fate,
Till our eyes met, and it wasn't too late.

Then Ronny, with spirit, a lifeline extended,
Through a lick and a look, our hearts quickly blended.
Two souls long forgotten, in silence they pleaded,
For a love just like mine, so desperately needed.

They entered my life in a moment so grim,
When the light of my hope was exceedingly dim.
They brought laughter and joy, a respite from sorrow,
A promise of sunshine, each new tomorrow.

When tears needed shedding, they offered their fur,
A comfort, a tissue, their presence a cure.
In moments of doubt, their loyalty never waned,
Two friends on a journey, through sunshine and rain.

We battled, we fought, through each high and low,
And with each passing day, our bonded love did grow.
I needed them more than I'd ever known,
My protectors, my guides, through the unknown sown.

I emerged from the storm, with them by my side,
My heart full of gratitude, wide-eyed and wide.
For Rich and Ronny, my guardians so true,
I owe you my life, for the love that I drew.

In laughter and tears, in silence and roars,
You've given me everything, and so much more.
My companions, my heroes, in fur-cloaked disguise,
I love you, my everything, my noblest prize.

A Tale of Delight

In a corner of the world, under a window so bright,
Amanda R. Waldrop shares a tale of delight.
Mark, with a thought so tender and able,
Gifted a squirrel picnic table.

Perched outside the window of her home office view,
A scene unfolds, fresh as morning dew.
Where nature's little jesters, in their playful spree,
Feast upon their table, in pure glee.

Molly, the kitty, with eyes wide and keen,
Watches the squirrels, in a world serene.
Together they sit, day by day,
In silent camaraderie, in their own special way.

Amanda, with Molly, finds joy so profound,
In the simple pleasures that abound.
A squirrel picnic table, a window, a sight,
Turns ordinary moments into pure delight.

So here's to the small things that make life sweet,
To moments of peace, our hearts' retreat.
For in the story of Amanda, Mark, and Molly's grace,
Lies a reminder of the beauty in our space.

Going Home

In a realm where the skies stretch endless and blue,
Beyond the veil, where each dawn feels brand new,
There's a place, serene, where love's forever true,
A heavenly home where our pets wait, in view.

Gentle meadows under soft, eternal light,
Where the air hums with joy, day and night,
Here, every bond remains unbroken, tight,
In this paradise, every soul takes flight.

No farewell here, just a sweet, serene pause,
Where time's embrace gently softens its jaws,
Every creature basks in love's warm applause,
Bound by a promise, without any clause.

Through the fields, they come running to greet,
With wagging tails and purrs, oh so sweet,
In their eyes, the love we've always known,
They wait for us, in this heavenly home.

So fear not the journey, or the passage of time,
For in this divine haven, everything's sublime,
Our pets, our friends, in their prime,
Whisper, "It's easy to come home, where love's the rhyme."

In Morning’s Prime

In the dawn's early light, a rooster stands tall and fair,
"I may look calm," he declares with a glare.
"But in my head, I've pecked you three times,"
A secret battle, in morning's prime.

His feathers shimmer, his gaze, it burns,
With each cock-a-doodle-doo, the world turns.
A ruler of the roost, in his mind's eye,
Where victories are silent and enemies fly.

In the kingdom of feathers, straw, and seeds,
He battles giants in his deeds.
With a crown of red and a cloak of gold,
His story of bravery, silently told.

So next time you hear his morning call,
Remember the battles that befall.
For in his head, he's a warrior true,
In the quiet morning, his spirit flew.

A rooster bold, in sunlight's embrace,
Wears a calm mask upon his face.
But beneath the calm, a warrior resides,
In the heart of the barnyard, his courage hides.

A Mark of Grace

Beneath the ancient skies of old,
Where stories are whispered, and legends told,
A humble donkey, meek and mild,
Found favor in the eyes of a child.

"For your love, so pure and true,
A mark of grace I bestow on you,"
Spoke the Lord, with love so vast,
A shadow of the cross, upon the donkey cast.

Ever since that blessed day,
The Jerusalem donkey bears the mark, they say,
A sign of love from the divine,
A symbol of grace, eternally to shine.

Through fields and roads, the donkey treads,
A living testament, its back bears threads
Of a story of humility and care,
A reminder of a love beyond compare.

So let us remember, in our hearts and minds,
The lesson of the donkey, and the love it finds.
In humility and service, let us all partake,
And carry our own crosses, for His name's sake.

Tender Love

In a meadow's gentle fold, under skies of blue,
A scene of tender love and care sweetly comes into view.
A momma donkey, coat of gray, in the sunlight's gentle sway,
Bends down low with love aglow, her baby's fears to allay.

The baby donkey, small and frail, upon the ground does lie,
His eyes a mirror of the world, wide beneath the open sky.
His mother's warmth, a shield, a charm, against the cool air's embrace,
In her snuggle, safe and sound, he finds his peaceful place.

With gentle nuzzles, soft and kind, she whispers love so true,
A language of the heart they speak, in the meadow's morning dew.
Together in this tranquil scene, where nature hums a lullaby,
A bond as strong as life itself, under the vast, embracing sky.

This picture of maternal grace, in nature's gentle hand,
Reminds us of the love that's found, across the animal land.
A momma donkey with her babe, in love's unspoken song,
In her care, he finds his strength, with her he belongs.

So let us learn from these gentle beasts, in their simple, loving way,
The power of a mother's love, to brighten any day.
For in each moment of tender care, a greater love is sown,
In the meadow of life, through warmth and strife, the seeds of love are grown.

A Beacon in the Night

In a world where cruelty hides in day's bright light,
A young heart stood firm, a beacon in the night.
Luke Rowles, just fifteen, eyes wide and brave,
Faced down the dark, a lone, innocent to save.

In a garden of shadows, where violence found its mark,
A fox lay in agony, its future stark.
Mouth sealed with silence, a duct tape chain,
A creature of the wild, bound in human pain.

With courage that belied his tender years,
Luke approached the group, despite his fears.
He shouted, a voice against the tide,
And with determined hands, he turned the ride.

He lifted the fox, from the depths of despair,
Healing its wounds, with tender care.
In his eyes, a resolve, pure and true,
A spirit that through darkness flew.

He freed the fox, back to the wild's embrace,
A gesture of hope, for the entire race.
Luke Rowles, now a man, continues his creed,
Rescuing those in need, a selfless deed.

The world needs more like him, hearts bold and kind,
Who to cruelty and despair, refuse to be blind.
For it's in acts of courage, in moments so bleak,
We find the strength to give voice to the weak.

So here's to the brave, who stand tall and fight,
For every creature's right to live in the light.
May we learn from Luke, with his unconditional will,
To protect, to care, and to heal.
