It’s Dinner on the Grounds
Do you remember Dinner on the grounds I was a little boy I used to run and play all day There was always lots of good food The more people ate. The more food there was I was too young to notice at the time After dinner there was singing in the Church Gospel Music flowed from the windows On Good Days Aunt Hattie would get to shouting Us kids stayed outside and played not to create a disturbance We would pull ourselves up and look in the windows There were strange things going on as the people swayed back and fort to the music I learned later it was called the Holy Spirit What ever it was it was from heaven Some said they got healed From what I’m not sure But they said it was a real cure Seems things aren’t like they used to be I think Old Time Religion is good enough for me November 23, 2021 Mark Waldrop
