Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:
Matthew 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Reflection:
In the Beatitudes, Jesus begins with a profound and paradoxical statement: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." To be "poor in spirit" means to recognize our own spiritual poverty and our need for God's grace. It is an acknowledgment that, without God, we are spiritually bankrupt and in need of His mercy and guidance.

Our Father knows that true blessedness comes not from self-sufficiency or pride, but from a humble and contrite heart that seeks Him. When we come to God with a spirit of humility, admitting our weaknesses and dependence on Him, we open ourselves to His abundant grace and the richness of His kingdom.

Being "poor in spirit" is not about material poverty but about a heart posture that is open to receiving God's blessings. It is an invitation to trust in God's wisdom and provision, knowing that He provides for our deepest needs and offers us the kingdom of heaven.

Meditation:
Reflect on your spiritual life. Are there areas where you rely more on your own strength than on God's grace? How can you cultivate a heart that is humble and receptive to God's guidance and blessings?

Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for the promise of Your kingdom to those who are poor in spirit. Help me to recognize my need for You in every aspect of my life. Teach me to rely on Your grace and wisdom rather than my own understanding. May my heart be humble and open to Your guidance, and may I find true blessedness in Your presence.
Amen.

Application:
Today, take time to humbly come before God, acknowledging your need for His grace and guidance. Seek His wisdom in areas where you may have been relying on your own strength. Trust that in your spiritual humility, you will experience the richness of God's kingdom and His blessings in your life.

Scripture:
Psa 119:60 "I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments.”

Reflection:
Psalm 119:60 emphasizes the importance of immediate obedience to God's commandments. The psalmist expresses a sense of urgency and commitment in following God's directives without hesitation. This attitude reflects a heart that understands the value of God's wisdom and desires to live in alignment with His will.

In our daily lives, we are often faced with choices that require us to act quickly. Delaying obedience can lead to missed opportunities and the potential for straying from the path God has set for us. Our Father knows best and His commandments are given to guide us towards a life of fulfillment and righteousness.

By prioritizing God's commandments and responding promptly to His guidance, we demonstrate our trust in His wisdom and our dedication to living according to His ways. This prompt obedience not only honors God but also brings peace and direction to our lives.

Meditation:
Consider the areas of your life where you may be hesitating to follow God's commands. What steps can you take to ensure that you respond more quickly and faithfully to His guidance?

Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your commandments that guide and protect me. Help me to hasten and not delay in following Your will. Grant me the strength and determination to respond promptly to Your guidance, trusting that Your ways are always best. May my obedience bring honor to Your name and lead me closer to You.
Amen.

Application:
Today, make a conscious effort to respond promptly to God's guidance. Whether it's through prayer, reading the Bible, or listening to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, commit to acting swiftly and faithfully. Trust that your quick obedience will lead to blessings and a deeper relationship w

Happy New Year

When the bells ring out the old year,
And fade into the night,
When the bells ring in the new year,
With hope’s eternal light,

I’m wishing hours of joy and cheer,
To fill your days anew,
A year of love, a heart sincere,
Unceasingly for you.

May laughter dance through every day,
And blessings softly fall,
May dreams take wing and find their way,
To answer every call.

So as the bells chime clear and bright,
And skies are painted blue,
I send my love this New Year’s night,
Unceasingly to you

New Year Dawns

In battles fierce with vices, take your stand,
A warrior within, against the shadows grand.
Let peace with neighbors be your constant song,
Harmony that echoes, enduring and strong.

As the new year dawns, a chance to renew,
A better version of yourself, tried and true.
Forge ahead with wisdom, leave the past behind,
A journey of growth, in every step you find.

Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:
Proverbs 28:19 "Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits will have plenty of poverty."

Reflection:
Proverbs 28:19 offers a clear and practical lesson about diligence and the value of hard work. The verse contrasts two paths: one of dedication and productivity, and one of chasing after empty or frivolous pursuits. The former brings abundance and provision, while the latter leads to lack and hardship.

In our lives, this principle can apply to both our physical work and our spiritual endeavors. God blesses the diligent efforts of those who commit their work to Him. When we focus on meaningful and purposeful activities, we are likely to see fruitful results. On the other hand, if we invest our time and energy in pursuits that lack substance or value, we may find ourselves facing disappointment and need.

Our Father knows best what we need for a fulfilling life. He calls us to be good stewards of our time, talents, and resources. By aligning our actions with His wisdom and purpose, we can experience His provision and blessings.

Meditation:
Reflect on your daily activities and pursuits. Are there areas where you might be investing in things that don't bring lasting value? How can you focus more on the tasks and missions that align with God's will and bring true fulfillment?

Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for the wisdom You provide in Your Word. Help me to focus on what is meaningful and to work diligently in all that I do. Guide me away from pursuits that lead to emptiness and toward those that fulfill Your purpose for my life

Happy New Year

Happy New Year
To all those who Can Hear

Only Look For The Very Best
Discarding the Rest With Cheer

With GOD Ahead of Me
And JESUS By My Side
There’s Nothing I Can’t Do or Decide

In Good Times, I Will Rejoice
In Hard Times, I Will Pray
In All Other Times, I Will Remember
To Do The Very Best, I Can Today

When Time Comes to an End For Me
I Will Gladly Say
Thank You, GOD, for walking with me all the way.

Joy and Sorrow

Screenshot
In the glow of the twinkling holiday light,
There are hearts cloaked in shadow, longing for night.
For the laughter once shared, the love once near,
Now echoes in memories, cherished yet clear.

Some face the first of the holidays alone,
With aching hearts for the love that has flown.
Others, the last, with each moment they hold,
Precious as diamonds, more valuable than gold.

So as you revel in the season’s cheer,
Pause for the silent, the grieving, the near.
For joy’s bright mantle may not always show
The weight of the burdens others may know.

Be kind in your words, be tender, be true,
Give a smile, lend a hand, share what’s good in you.
For a small spark of love, a moment of grace,
Can light up the darkest, most sorrowful place.

This season of giving is more than a time,
It’s a chance to heal wounds, to soothe and to climb.
Together, through joy, through sorrow, we’ll find,
The strength in compassion—the heart of mankind.

Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best

Scripture:
Psa 42:1 "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God."

Reflection:
In the quiet moments of our lives, when we feel a deep longing within our hearts, we can be reminded of the imagery in Psalm 42:1. Just as a deer desperately seeks out streams of water to quench its thirst, our souls yearn for the presence of God. This thirst is not for something fleeting, but for the eternal and fulfilling presence of our Creator.

Our Father knows the deepest desires of our hearts. He understands our need for His love, guidance, and comfort. Often, we may find ourselves chasing after the temporary pleasures of this world, thinking they will satisfy us. However, true contentment comes only from a relationship with God.

Meditation:
Take a moment to reflect on the ways you have tried to quench your spiritual thirst. Have you sought fulfillment in things that are temporary? Remember, just as the deer finds its sustenance in streams of water, we find ours in the living waters provided by our Heavenly Father.

Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for understanding my deepest needs and desires. Help me to seek You above all else and to recognize that only You can truly satisfy my soul. Like the deer panting for water, may my soul continually thirst for Your presence. Guide me in Your ways, and let me find peace and contentment in You alone.
Amen.

Application:
Today, make an intentional effort to spend time in God's presence. Whether through prayer, reading the Bible, or quiet meditation, allow His living water to refresh and renew your spirit. Trust that your Father knows best and will provide all that you need.

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 112:5
"Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice."

Reflection:
In Psalm 112:5, we find a powerful promise and a guiding principle for living a life that aligns with God's heart. This verse assures us that blessings come to those who are generous and just. Generosity and justice are not just noble ideals but practical ways to live out our faith and demonstrate God's love to others.

Generosity involves more than just giving material possessions; it includes offering our time, energy, and compassion to those in need. By lending freely, we extend a helping hand without expecting anything in return, reflecting God's unconditional love and grace.

Conducting our affairs with justice means acting with integrity and fairness in all our dealings. It requires us to stand up for what is right and to treat others with respect and kindness. This principle is foundational to building a life that honors God and positively impacts those around us.

Devotional Thought:
Our Heavenly Father, who knows best, calls us to be generous and just. He promises that good will come to those who follow these principles. When we trust in God's wisdom and live according to His ways, we open ourselves up to His blessings and the fulfillment that comes from serving others.

In a world that often values self-interest and material gain, choosing to be generous and just can set us apart as people of faith. By doing so, we become conduits of God's love and justice, making a tangible difference in our communities and beyond.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the guidance and wisdom found in Your Word. Help us to be generous and just in all our actions, reflecting Your love and grace to those around us. Teach us to trust in Your promises and to live in a way that brings honor to Your name. May we be known as people who lend freely and conduct our affairs with integrity. Amen.

Holiday Leftovers

After the feast, the table’s clear,
Yet leftovers linger, bringing cheer.
I thought I’d never eat again,
But hunger returned, as it always does then.

The turkey, the pie, the cranberry spread,
Flavors dance anew, though the meal’s long fled.
Somehow, they seem to taste better this time,
As if patience has seasoned them, oh so sublime.

Imagination turns scraps into treasure,
A casserole here, a soup beyond measure.
Thank You, Lord, for abundance and grace,
For meals reborn, no morsel a waste.

So here’s to leftovers, a second delight,
A testament to blessings, day and night.
