My Soul Yearns for You

My Soul Yearns for You
(Inspired by Isaiah 26:9)

My soul yearns for You in the hush of night,
When stars bear witness to Heaven’s light.
In quiet hours, when dreams take flight,
My heart still seeks Your truth and might.

At dawn’s first glow, I rise and pray,
For You, O Lord, at break of day.
My spirit longs with holy ache,
To walk the path Your footsteps make.

When justice flows upon the land,
And nations tremble at Your hand,
The hearts of men, both great and small,
Are taught to rise, and kneel, and fall.

For in Your ways, the righteous grow,
Like rivers cleansed by melting snow.
And in Your judgments, pure and wise,
We lift our eyes beyond the skies.

So in the night and morning too,
My soul will ever thirst for You.
Until the earth and all confess—
The Lord is Light, and Righteousness.

Isa 26:9  With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Medicine for The Soul

What’s the most needed medicine for the soul?
Not found in bottles, nor in man’s control.
No earthly cure, no healing art,
Can mend the wounds that break the heart.

But there is One, both true and bright,
Who brings the soul from death to light.
The Spirit of Jesus, pure and true,
Will heal the soul and make it new.

No bandage binds, no potion heals
Like love that lifts and grace that feels.
He bore our pain, He took our place,
And fills our hearts with saving grace.

So ask not what the world can give—
Only in Him can the soul truly live.
The Spirit of Christ is healing’s goal
The only cure that makes us whole.

Pope Francis gave his all,
Mustering strength to heed God’s call.
Through humble heart and shepherd’s grace,
He bore Christ’s light in every place.

He walked with those the world cast low,
And taught us how God’s mercy flows.
With open arms and prayerful voice,
He made the weary soul rejoice.

Serving to bring Peace and Love through every land,
He urged the world to take a stand
To lift the poor, to mend the wrong,
To live with hearts both kind and strong.

Thank you, Pope Francis, for showing the way,
For leading with hope, come what may.
Your time on earth was deeply blessed,
Now in the arms of Christ, you rest.

Rest in Eternal Peace—your race is run.
Your crown awaits with the risen Son.

Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture: Matthew 5:41
"If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles."

In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus calls us to a radical way of living, one that goes beyond mere obligation and into the realm of grace and love. The world often tells us to do only what is required, but Jesus teaches a different path — one of selfless generosity and unexpected kindness.

In this verse, He challenges us to go the extra mile, literally and figuratively. It’s not just about fulfilling the minimum requirements or doing what’s expected, but about serving others with a willing heart, even when it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable. When we go beyond what’s asked of us, we reflect the heart of our Father, who always knows best.

God knows that it is in these moments of going the extra mile that we grow in humility and compassion. He uses these acts of grace to shape our character and to be a light to others. This kind of love can change the hearts of those around us, breaking down barriers and showing the world what it means to live in Christ’s love.

Today, consider where God may be calling you to go the extra mile. Whether it’s in your relationships, your work, or your service to others, trust that your Father knows best and will bless you as you walk in obedience to His higher calling.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to a life of love and service. Help me to go the extra mile, not out of obligation, but out of a heart that reflects Your grace. Teach me to love others as You have loved me, trusting that You know what’s best for my growth and for the good of those I serve. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture: 1 John 2:1
"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One."

We are all on a journey of faith, striving to live a life that honors God. But along the way, we stumble and fall. Sin sometimes sneaks into our lives, and it can leave us feeling ashamed, distant from God, and unworthy of His love. Yet, in His infinite wisdom and love, our Father knew this would happen, and He made provision for us.

God doesn’t want us to sin, but He also knows we are not perfect. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be our advocate. Jesus, the Righteous One, stands in our place, defending us before the Father when we fall short. He took upon Himself the penalty for our sins, so that we could stand forgiven and redeemed.

What a comforting truth! We are not left to bear the weight of our mistakes alone. When we confess our sins, we have a Savior who is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Our Father knows best — He knows we need grace, and He offers it freely through His Son.

Today, if you find yourself struggling with sin or guilt, remember that Jesus is your advocate. He stands in the gap for you, offering you the gift of grace and a path back to the Father. Don’t carry the burden of sin any longer — bring it to the One who knows you fully and loves you completely.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for knowing my heart and for providing Jesus as my advocate. When I fall, remind me of the grace that is available to me through Christ. Help me to turn away from sin and trust in Your forgiveness. Thank You for Your perfect plan and endless love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    The True Meaning of Easter

It wasn’t the nails that held Him there,
But love so deep, beyond compare.
A crown of thorns, a rugged tree,
The weight of sin, for you and me.

Betrayed, abandoned, left alone,
Yet mercy flowed from Heaven’s throne.
With every stripe, with every scar,
He bore our pain to heal our hearts.

The earth went dark, the sky stood still,
As Love fulfilled the Father’s will.
A borrowed tomb, a stone so cold,
Yet death could never take its hold.

For on the third, the grave gave way,
The stone was rolled—an empty grave!
He rose in power, He lives again,
Our Savior, King, our truest Friend.

Not bunnies, eggs, or springtime cheer,
But victory over death and fear.
Eternal hope, amazing grace,
New life for all who seek His face.

So lift your voice, rejoice and sing,
For Jesus lives—our Risen Savior and King!

Mat 28:6  He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay

Only One Doctrine Will Remain

Man’s doctrine rises, bold and loud,
With clever words to please the crowd.
It shifts like sand, it fades like mist,
A fleeting spark the world can’t resist.

But time will test what man has made,
And every lie will soon decay.
Philosophies and prideful schemes
Will vanish like forgotten dreams.

For only One is tried and true—
Eternal Word, both old and new.
God’s holy law, His sovereign way,
Will stand when all else fades away.

The winds may howl, the nations fall,
Yet His commands outlast them all.
Not one decree shall pass in vain—
His truth forever will remain.

So build your life on what is sure,
The doctrine holy, just, and pure.
Let man’s opinions drift like clay—
God’s divine doctrine is here to
Stay.

Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture: Psalm 61:1-2
"For the director of music. With stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I."

In times of weariness, when the weight of the world seems too heavy to bear, it's natural to cry out to God, as David did. David knew where to turn when his heart grew faint — not to his own strength, but to the One who holds all strength and wisdom. He sought refuge in a rock higher than himself, a place of security and peace that only God could provide.

Sometimes we don’t understand why we face certain trials or why our hearts feel so heavy, but it is in these moments that we must trust that our Father knows best. Like a child running into their parent’s arms, we find rest in His embrace, knowing that He sees the bigger picture, even when we cannot. His ways are higher than ours, and His love for us is unfailing.

Today, whatever burden you are carrying, remember to call upon the Lord. Allow Him to lift you up to that higher place — a place of safety, trust, and rest in His divine plan. Though our hearts may grow faint, our Father hears every cry, and He knows exactly what we need. He is our rock, and we can trust in Him.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I come before You today, trusting that You know what’s best for me. As I cry out to You with my burdens, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I. Help me to rest in Your wisdom and love, knowing that You hear my prayers and will guide me through every trial. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Goodwill Amongst Ill-Will

Let not the bitter twist your soul,
Nor match their fire with burning coal.
For hearts that hurt will often fight,
But love can pierce the darkest night.

Speak peace where anger takes its stand,
Extend a warm and open hand.
A gentle word, a patient ear—
Can soften wrath and calm the fear.

Where others curse, let blessing grow,
Plant seeds of grace in hardened soil below.
For even those whose hearts have strayed
Can bloom again through love conveyed.

Goodwill’s not weak—it stands its ground,
It lifts the lost, the low, the bound.
It dares to care, to build, to heal—
To meet ill-will with truth and zeal.

So be the bridge, the balm, the light—
The soul who chooses what is right.
For when goodwill begins to reign,
Even hate can’t long remain.

I Stand Up For Jesus

I stand up for Jesus while I kneel and pray,
My voice may be quiet, but I’ve something to say.
With hands clasped in reverence, my heart takes its stand,
For truth is not shaken by trembling hand.

I bow in His presence, yet rise in His might,
For kneeling in prayer gives strength for the fight.
No army or power can pull me away
I stand up for Jesus while I kneel and pray.

The world may be roaring, the storms may be loud,
But I walk with the Savior, not lost in the crowd.
My courage is found not in shouts or display,
But in still, sacred moments I spend in His way.

So when battle lines form and darkness draws near,
I lift up my soul with reverent fear.
Not by sword, but by grace I hold fast each day
I stand up for Jesus while I kneel and pray.
