A Gift From Above

Dog spelled backwards is God, a divine little twist,
A reminder, perhaps, that He couldn’t resist.
For dogs are His way of saying with grace,
“I’ll give you a friend to brighten your days.”

They walk by our side with loyalty pure,
A steadfast companion through trials, for sure.
With eyes full of love, a spirit so true,
They’re heaven’s own gift, a light to pursue.

Through laughter and tears, in moments we roam,
Dogs prove that God didn’t want us alone.
With paws soft and gentle, they comfort and heal,
In their quiet devotion, God’s love we feel.

So treasure your dog, this gift from above,
A symbol of loyalty, patience, and love.
For in every wag, every nuzzle and sigh,
Is God’s gentle whisper, “I’m always nearby.”

In Silent Grace

It’s not the words we speak or sounds we share,
But something deeper, soft and rare.
Not in phrases, not in lines,
But in the spaces where the heart inclines.

True understanding blooms unseen,
In glances felt, in moments serene.
For language fades, it slips and breaks,
Yet feeling stays, and truth it makes.

It’s not in accents, nor in tone,
But in the warmth that’s softly grown,
Between two souls, in silent grace,
In love’s own quiet, sacred place.

So let us share beyond what’s heard,
In feelings felt, not merely words.
For only hearts that feel as one
Will understand when speech is done.

Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:
Titus 2:13
"While we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,"

Reflection:
Titus 2:13 speaks to the anticipation and hope we have as believers in Jesus Christ. We are encouraged to look forward to the "blessed hope," which is the glorious return of our Savior. This hope is not a passive wish but an active, joyful expectation rooted in the promises of God.

Our Father knows the importance of hope in our lives. He understands that in a world filled with uncertainties and challenges, the hope of Christ's return provides us with strength and encouragement. This hope is a reminder that our current circumstances are temporary and that a glorious future awaits us.

As we wait for Jesus' return, we are called to live in a way that reflects our faith and hope. This means living righteously and godly lives, as outlined in the preceding verses of Titus 2. Our actions and attitudes should reflect our anticipation of His coming, demonstrating the transformative power of His grace in our lives.

The promise of Jesus' return also reassures us of God's ultimate plan and sovereignty. Our Father knows best, and His timing is perfect. While we may not know the exact moment of Christ's return, we can trust that it will happen according to God's perfect plan.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the blessed hope of Jesus' return. Help us to live in joyful anticipation of this glorious event, reflecting Your grace and love in our daily lives. Strengthen our faith and encourage our hearts as we wait, trusting in Your perfect timing and plan. May our lives be a testimony to the hope we have in Christ. Amen.

Thought for the Day:
Live each day with the joyful anticipation of Christ's return. Trust in God's perfect plan and let the hope of His coming transform your actions and attitudes, knowing that our Father knows best.

Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best

Scripture:
Psalm 27:1-2
"The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall."

Reflection:
Psalm 27 is a powerful declaration of trust in God's protection and guidance. David, the author, confidently proclaims the Lord as his light and salvation, his stronghold in times of trouble. These verses remind us that our Father knows best how to protect and guide us through life's challenges.

When we recognize the Lord as our light, we acknowledge His role in illuminating our path, dispelling darkness, and guiding us with His wisdom. As our salvation, God is our deliverer, the one who rescues us from danger and harm. This understanding provides us with a profound sense of security and peace, knowing that God is actively working for our good.

The phrase "whom shall I fear?" reflects a deep trust in God's sovereignty and power. When God is the stronghold of our life, we can face any situation with courage, knowing that He is our refuge and strength. This assurance diminishes our fears and helps us to stand firm in faith, regardless of the circumstances.

David's confidence that his enemies will stumble and fall is rooted in his faith in God's justice and protection. Our Father knows best how to handle those who seek to harm us. When we trust in Him, we can be assured that He will act on our behalf, ensuring that evil will not prevail.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being our light, salvation, and stronghold. Help us to trust in Your protection and guidance, knowing that You know what is best for us. Strengthen our faith and give us courage to face our fears, confident that You are with us. Protect us from those who seek to harm us and guide us in Your righteous path. Amen.

Thought for the Day:
With the Lord as your light and salvation, you have nothing to fear. Trust in His protection and guidance, knowing that our Father knows best how to lead and safeguard you through every challenge.

You Are Not Forgotten

Veterans day background. National holiday of the USA. Vector illustration
In battles fought, in scars they bear,
Veterans stand, a solemn prayer.
Freedom's price, they've truly known,
Their courage, a legacy sown.

Through wars and trials, they have stood,
A testament to brotherhood.
Our duty clear, to safeguard the gain,
For their sacrifice, not in vain.

Let gratitude be our heartfelt song,
For veterans brave, courageous and strong.
A pledge to keep the flame alight,
To honor them, both day and night.

Simple and Clear

The greatness of a man, it’s not wealth or gold,
Not treasures amassed or fortunes bold.
But in the quiet strength he shows,
In the seeds of kindness that he sows.

It’s in his integrity, firm and bright,
A guiding star through the darkest night.
In words he speaks that ring with truth,
In wisdom shared with age and youth.

He leaves a mark on hearts, not things,
A legacy that compassion brings.
For riches fade, and fame grows dim,
But lives are changed because of him.

The measure of greatness is simple and clear,
In love that lingers year after year.
So may we seek not wealth or pride,
But honor that will long abide.

Love Without Judgement

You can’t love your country only when you win,
True patriotism roots much deeper within.
It’s holding fast through the thick and thin,
Through struggle and loss, through virtue and sin.

You can’t love your neighbors only when you agree,
When beliefs divide like a raging sea.
Love bridges gaps that words may not mend,
Reminding us all we’re kin, friend to friend.

In triumph or failure, in light or in shade,
The strength of true love never will fade.
For nations are built not on ease or consent,
But on unity forged from hearts unbent.

So stand by your country, your kin, your creed,
With love in the hard times—the times of true need.
For the greatest of honors, the noblest grace,
Is to love without judgment, to hold with embrace.

Daily Devotional: Our Father Knows Best
By Mark Waldrop

Scripture:
2 Timothy 2:11
"Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him;"

Reflection:
This verse from 2 Timothy offers a profound truth about our relationship with Jesus Christ. It encapsulates the essence of our faith: union with Christ in both His death and His life. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we symbolically die with Him, putting to death our old sinful nature. This death is not the end but a transformative beginning, leading to new life in Christ.

Our Father knows that true life is found in Jesus. By dying to our old selves, we are freed from the bondage of sin and given a new identity in Christ. This new life is marked by hope, purpose, and a deep, abiding relationship with God. It’s a life that reflects His love, grace, and truth.

Living with Christ means embracing the fullness of His resurrection power. It means experiencing His presence in our daily lives and allowing His Spirit to guide and transform us. This new life is not without its challenges, but we can face them with confidence, knowing that we are united with Christ and empowered by His resurrection.

This trustworthy saying reassures us that our Father’s plan for us is perfect. He knows that through our union with Christ, we will experience true and abundant life. Our Father’s wisdom is evident in this divine exchange—our old life for a new, vibrant life in Jesus.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the profound truth that in dying with Christ, we are given new life in Him. Help us to embrace this new life fully, trusting in Your perfect plan and wisdom. Strengthen our faith and guide us by Your Spirit, so that we may live in a way that reflects Your love and grace. Amen.

Thought for the Day:
Embrace the new life that comes from dying with Christ. Trust that our Father knows best and has given you a life of hope, purpose, and joy in Jesus.

Headed Home

Screenshot
Some are headed home,
While others destined here to stay,
On Heaven’s wings, at sunset’s glow,
We rise, we soar, we drift away.

The skies alight with gentle grace,
A path beyond the end of day,
Where shadows fade, and sorrows cease,
And peace enfolds in soft array.

For those who stay, remember well,
In dreams and whispers, love remains
A silent bond, a sacred spell,
That bridges worlds, despite the chains.

But some are called, and some remain,
Each journey carved, each step our own,
Yet bound by heart, through joy and pain,
We walk apart but not alone.

So when the evening’s colors die,
And starlight graces dusk’s display,
Know that on Heaven’s wings we fly
Some of us home, some bound to stay.

A Bark Away

Heaven is just a bark away,
A wagging tail, a joyful play.
Where paws leave prints in stardust skies,
And loving gazes never die.

A place where fetch goes on for miles,
And every day brings endless smiles.
A land where treats fall like the rain,
And old aches vanish, leaving no pain.

The fields are wide, the rivers clear,
With friends we’ve lost, now waiting here.
They run, they leap, they chase the day—
For heaven is just a bark away.

And though our hearts may ache with grief,
In memories, we find relief.
For love like theirs can never part,
It stays forever in our heart.

So when the night is calm and still,
I feel a warmth, a gentle thrill,
A whisper soft, from skies so gray
Heaven is just a bark away.
