The Loss of Love
Politics boils with anger today,
Its voice grows harsh, its heart led astray.
Once built for people, for justice, for care,
Now power and pride fill the halls of the air.
The reason is simple, the truth plain to see,
They’ve lost love for humanity.
Without compassion, no law can stand,
No healing will come to a broken land.
But if love returns, both gentle and strong,
It will quiet the hate, and right what is wrong.
For the heart that seeks people above the fight,
Will guide politics back to mercy and light.
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.”
