The Old #3 General

I was built in 1855
As sturdy as could be

I was strong and heavyweight
For whoever needed me

I could move people
I could move supplies
I could move most anything in GOD’S eyes

It was not for me to decide
What they used me for was right or wrong

It was only for me
To be very strong

I worked hard all day and night
Never a moment of fright

I did the best I could
All day and all night

One day I got tired
New Engines had come along

I retired without a regret
Still with a happy song

My whistle I still hear
In echos of days gone by

Remembering the hardships
without even a cry

I’m resting now
In the Southern Museum of Civil war
And Locomotive History

For all to see
And remember me

The moment of Mystery
When I made History

Old Kentucky Ham

Hams are a funny lot
They talk all over the world
With a Radio, wire, and a few watts

They help with communication
In all kinds of ways

Hurricane, floods and other emergencies
All with similar urgencies

Their a close knit bunch
Always operating on a hunch

Never charging for their service in any way
Always helping each other every day

It’s a wonderful hobby
Bringing much joy and fulfillment
To all those who choose the commitment

I guess their calling is from above
Because they serve with much love

ANXIOUS

One day I was most Anxious about everything
I was Anxious about the dog
I was Anxious about the cat

I was Anxious about my spouse
I was Anxious about the House

I was Anxious about my children
I was Anxious about my bank account

Then I remembered The Sermon On The Mount
It took my anxieties away

And I found Peace within
When God’s love poured through me again

Php 4:6  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

A Friend named Tom K4LID

Tom Lykins K4LID Louia Kentucky
I have a friend named Tom
He always seems so calm

He has Great Faith in God
That’s why he knows which path to trod

No matter when you see or hear him
He’s always the same

He has a remarkable memory
He never forgets a name

Even though he has many difficulties in life
He never shows any strife

I hope he remains my friend till I die
Then we will be with God in the sky

We would play in the yard

When Jesus was young we would play in the yard
We would run and play so very hard

He would look at the birds and say those are mine
They would fly around him all the time

We would go down by the brook and rest in the shade
He would say. Look at all the things my father has made

I did not understand. We were just kids playing every day

We grew older. He said he had to go.
Something about his Father’s business
I do not know

Then one day I heard they had Crucified Him
It hurt my heart so

He was such a nice boy. I couldn’t understand why they would kill this man

I went to the garden to tend to the flowers
There stood a man I did not know
It scared me at first. Then I hear him say

Don’t you remember me?
Look at all the things my Father has made for me

I feel at his feet
And cried dear Jesus I love you so

We talked for awhile
And then he had to go
Something about his Father’s Business
I did not know

But now I feel whole and have love within
Because Jesus came to visit again.

Me and Jesus were just like that

I was on the way to a game one day
I felt my life fading away

The faster he drove
The more I prayed

I thought for sure
We were going to end up in the grave

By the time we got there
My knuckles were white

I could barely stand up
Out of fright

I turned to Jesus
He heard me say
Thank you, Lord, for being with me today

Gizmo’s Adventures

My name is Gizmo
I took a little trip

It was starting to rain
And I began to slip

I fell to the ground
And did a flip

I ran and ran as fast as I could
But it came to no good

I was lost, hungry and frightened
Then I heard Mama say
You will be ok

I found a nice home with dogs inside
I went through the pet door
And I cried

They wrapped me in a blanket
And kept me warm
And out of the storm

They called my Parents immediately
I was so relieved
For them to see

When they got there
I jumped into my Mama’s arms
I said I’m sorry
I meant no harm
